She had never been a brave girl.

She hated heights, and was petrified of dogs.

When her classmates dared her to spend a night alone on the deserted beach oddly enough she didn't mind.

She loved the dark, being alone and the sea.

Though none of her classmates knew this.

They thought it odd she didn't turn them down.

They told her why the beach was abandoned.

That it was haunted by the ghostly figure of a boy singing horribly sad songs under the moon.

She accepted anyway, even if it was a ghost it couldn't be worse than the teasing she would receive if she refused to go.

So she went, wrapped up in a sweater with a thermos of hot chocolate.

It was close to midnight when she heard the music.

At first it was faint, barely noticeable over the crash of the waves.

But slowly it got louder the melancholy sound of it filling up her soul.

She ran towards the source of the music determined to find out what it was.

As she rounded into an area surrounded by large black rocks she stopped.

A pale boy wearing a large black cloak was sitting on one of the rocks holding a sitar.

The odd thing about the boy asides from his attire was that he was see-through.

She vaguely thought that she should scream, but his voice was so beautiful and so sad.

His hair was a dirty blond color and a cross between a mullet and a mohawk and from what she could see his eyes were of an odd color, a bluish green like the sea after a storm.

"Who are you?" she whispered quietly.

The boy turned and faintly smiled at her

"My name is Demyx… I've been gone for a while now I think."

"Why do you sound so sad?" she asked him.

"Most would kinda assume it's because I'm dead but, ya know I didn't exactly have much of a life when I was living either. Lacking a heart really sucks" he replied with an ironic smile

"So if it isn't because your death, than why?" she asked again, innately curious

"I'm waiting for someone. He's dead too, he died before me. He always loved it when I played my sitar, he never said anything but he didn't ever toss me out of the library so… If I keep playing maybe one day he'll come and then I can go." Demyx smiled brightly

"You refuse to leave without him? You must have really loved him, love him" she corrected herself

"Yes… I never got to tell him though. That's why I have to see Zexion before I go away." Demyx looked at the ground extremely sad

"The sun will be coming up soon…" he whispered a single crystalline tear fell as the boy faded away

"Wait Demyx, don't go yet!!" she yelled running towards the rock wishing to comfort the crying ghost.

It was too late by the time she got over there he was gone the only trace of him being a single tear-shaped light blue crystal.

She picked it up and put it in her pocket.

A day later she had it set into a necklace, and after a few weeks of looking for the sitarist every night and never finding him she gave up on ever seeing him again.

But still hoping he would see his Zexion someday and be able to move on.

She lived fearlessly from then on, with no regrets always remembering the ghost of a boy still waiting for the chance to tell someone he cared about that he loved him.

So read and review. It's short and kind of odd but somehow I think that Demyx would want to see Zexion before going away forever. Just wanting to wait for him so he could tell him for all of his lack of heart that he loved him. I thought it was sad how they were both dead. 6/9 forever!!
