Chapter 4
It had been an hour since Quinn passed out. She was sleeping peacefully so I didn't want to wake her. I heard John walking towards my bedroom and met him at the door. I asked him to be quiet and closed the door quietly behind me. He wanted to know what was going on and I told him. I asked him if he understood why Quinn started crying when she looked into my eyes and said he had his theories. I wanted answers now though agreed to a family meeting. John went downstairs to pass on the news. I quietly returned to my bedroom to be with Quinn.
Quinn had just woken up and wanted to know what happened. I told her that she was telling me about giving Beth up for adoption, started crying and passed out. I apologised for upsetting her though she told me she was okay and not to worry. I escorted her to the front door and said goodbye. Glenda had heard the door close and came to greet me. She could see the sadness in my eyes and held me in her arms. She told me that John and our sisters we waiting for us in the lounge room.
John started by asking questions about how we would kill our enemies. Grace was first to speak. She said a long range plan would be for the group to phase into panthers so they could use their speed and strength to surprise their victims. A short range attack meant that phasing would not be required as the element of surprise was lost. Instead, they would sense their victim's fear and hypnotise them. The victim once hypnotised would be killed.
John then asked if we were romantically involved with anyone on Quadra. Alice was surprised by this question. She replied on behalf of everyone by stating that they had no time to meet people. They seemed to be always at war and only associated with female soldiers. The little time they had between missions was spent resting up at home.
John reminded us that the reasons we settled on Earth was for his safety and to control our killer instinct. He also reminded us that we were beings capable of great strength, speed ….and love. Our ability to love, or be loved, had lain dormant outside the family unit. John turned to me and said that is likely that when Quinn looked into eyes she saw my inner beauty. She wouldn't have seen anything like it before and went into shock. We won't know for sure unless she decides to talk about it.
Our next Glee club rehearsal was Friday. It was my turn to sing a solo and I wanted to impress Quinn. We agreed on a song which I hoped would get her attention. We shall see.
