A/N; This is my first Steven Universe story.

Her eyes.

Her skin.

Her passion.

Sapphire loved Ruby and was attracted to all she had to offer. Though she was just seen as a common solider on Homeworld, to her, she was her world.

Her calmness.

Her depth.

Her eye.

Ruby couldn't help but fall for the aristocratic gem. From the day she saved her from Pearl's sword, their fusion, and turning back on their planet, Ruby knew that she had to be with her forever.

The confusion set in immediately. They were bombarded by other gems, spewing hateful words at them. Ruby was to be broken for fusing with such a rare gem, but Sapphire couldn't let it happen.

So they ran.

They ran and they never looked back.

Garnet sighed as she laid on her bed in silence. She was the answer. She was thankful for Rose and her guidance, and now she could be that light for Steven. Garnet thought about all that had happened the past year. the freeing of Lapis, meeting Peridot, Homeworld's trip to Earth to recover Peridot, their caputing, their splitting. The minutes seemed like hours and the hours felt like agony. Sapphire and Ruby were one; they couldn't stand to be apart. Every tune of Sapphires soft, melodic voice pained Ruby as she saw she was helpless.

So she sat against the wall, head buried in her knees.

Steven came to her rescue, and soon Ruby ran to aid Sapphire. Steven got there first, and reunited the two gems.

Exchanging words of concern, they embraced each other. Sapphire looked into Ruby's eyes and smiled, giving her a kiss on the forehead. They spun, becoming engulfed in light.

They were whole again.

The two-well Garnet, couln't imagine how they managed without being together before they met each other. This entity that they became, as Rose said, was the answer. Two opposites fell for each other and combined to create a beautiful fusion. They were made for each other.

Garnet sighed contently as she turned over in her bed. The love between them created her, and for that she was grateful. She walked out of her room to be met with the people that she cared about deeply. Steven was smiling along with Connie. Peal and Amethyst were in an argument about one of Amethyst's antics. Peridot sat on Steven's bed watching Camp Pining Hearts. This dysfunctional group was her family.

And it beat Homeworld by a longshot.

A/N; Just a quick Garnet-centric piece about her feelings towards everything.
