Note: Mai-Hime is an anime that was done by Sunrise and is based on a manga of the same name.

Natsuki Kuga got up and went to the living room. She looked around and saw that her parents were playing catch with a suitcase. She asked, "What are you doing?"

Natsuki's mom answered, "We're packing for a trip."

Natsuki replied, "It seems like you're playing instead of packing. What trip are you talking about?"

Natsuki's mom said, "We're going on a small vacation to a resort that's nearby."

Natsuki asked, "Why are you doing that?"

Natsuki's dad answered, "The rooms at the resort are on sale and I love saving money."

Natsuki's mom asked, "Can you stay at the house without us for a few days?"

Natsuki confidently answered, "Of course I can. I'm an adult."

Natsuki's dad didn't know how old his daughter was so he asked, "You are?"

Natsuki's mom said, "Being by yourself might be hard."

Natsuki replied, "Don't worry. I can take care of things."

Natsuki went to her bedroom and called Shizuru Fujino, her girlfriend. Natsuki said, "Hi Shizuru. My parents are going to a silly resort thing so I'll be by myself this weekend."

Shizuru replied, "I'm sure that'll be a challenge for you."

Natsuki felt a little upset while asking, "Why do you and my mom think that? I've defeated dozens of villains so hanging around the house by myself sounds like an easy task to take care of."

Shizuru replied, "Fighting villains and fighting loneliness are two very separate things."

Natsuki responded, "One of things is much easier to accomplish."

Shizuru replied, "I'm in full agreement about that."

Natsuki asked, "Do you agree that I'll be able to guard the house by myself?"

Shizuru answered, "Eh."

Natsuki replied, "Come on Shizuru. You're usually the most supportive person that I know."

Shizuru responded, "I only say that stuff, because I'm concerned about you."

Natsuki said, "I'm going to be okay. Do you believe me?"

Shizuru answered, "Maybe."

The next day Natsuki went to the living room and started eating breakfast. Natsuki's dad walked up to Natsuki and asked, "Can you do me a favor?"

Natsuki asked, "What is it?"

Natsuki's dad asked, "Can you only have two meals a day for a while?"

Natsuki asked, "Why?"

Natsuki's dad said, "This small vacation is pretty expensive so skipping a few meals would benefit my wallet."

Natsuki replied, "But I pay for my own groceries."

Natsuki's dad sighed and said, "Fair enough."

Natsuki's mom walked into the living room and said, "We're going to be going to the hotel soon."

Natsuki replied, "I hope that you have a great time."

Natsuki's mom said, "I hope that you don't get too lonely. Feel free to call whenever you want and you can have a sleepover with your friends."

Natsuki's dad replied, "I don't want her weird friends in my eloquent house."

Natsuki hugged her parents and waved goodbye. Her dad kept jabbering on about saving money. She tried to pay attention, but her attention span couldn't stand it so she shut the door before her dad finished his latest money speech.

Natsuki wasn't sure of what she should do so she went to her bedroom and started watching random YouTube videos. A few hours later Shizuru called her. Natsuki picked up the phone and said, "Hi Shizuru."

Shizuru asked, "How's your weekend alone going so far?"

Natsuki answered, "Um, good."

Shizuru asked, "Are you watching another Geekvolution commentary on YouTube?" Natsuki turned down the volume on the computer to hide the fact that she was doing that. Shizuru said, "I predicated that you'd be doing that."

Natsuki replied, "Geekvolution is one of the best YouTube channels so I don't see what the problem is."

Shizuru responded, "It is run by very talented people, but are you planning on doing anything else today?"

Natsuki said, "Um, not really."

Shizuru replied, "I'm going to come over and help you out."

Natsuki said, "I admire you with all my heart, but there isn't any real need to do that. I'm the same age as you so I don't need you to take care of me."

Shizuru replied, "There's nothing wrong with needing help and I love helping you."

Natsuki smiled and said, "Feel free to come over."

Shizuru replied, "I'll be there soon sweetheart."

About an hour later Shizuru arrived. Natsuki paused the Geekvolution video that she was watching and opened the door. Natsuki smiled and said, "Hi Shizuru."

Shizuru replied, "Hi sweetheart."

Natsuki said, "I'm glad that you came. I was doing okay by myself, but I'd rather be with you."

Shizuru replied, "You sure know how to say the words that I want to hear the most."

Natsuki said, "You look beautiful today."

Shizuru replied, "Your sweetness impresses me too no end darling."

Natsuki and Shizuru sat down on the couch. Natsuki said, "My dad wants me to start two meals a day. What do you think of that?"

Shizuru answered, "I think we should order a pizza."

Natsuki said, "Okay, but I'll pay."

After ordering a large pizza and a bunch of coupons Natsuki asked, "What type of movie should we watch?"

Shizuru answered, "A romantic film."

Natsuki asked, "Why?"

Shizuru smiled and said, "Because I love you." Natsuki and Shizuru turned on the TV and spent a few minutes searching for what to watch.

Twenty minutes later the pizza delivery man arrived and knocked on the door. He said, "It cost twenty dollars."

Natsuki replied, "But the ad said that the pizza only cost fifteen dollars."

The pizza delivery man responded, "Five dollars are added on, because of the coupons."

Natsuki asked, "Who charges money for coupons?"

The pizza delivery man said, "It's a new thing our pizza place is doing to make the place more unique." Natsuki paid the pizza delivery man twenty dollars. The delivery man asked, "Can I have a tip?"

Natsuki answered, "I think that the coupon money is enough of a tip."

The delivery man replied, "Okay." He went to his car and whined about not getting a tip.

Natsuki went to the couch and sat next to Shizuru. They ate the pizza and drank some sodas while watching the romance film. Shizuru put her arm around Natsuki during the movie. Natsuki asked, "What are you doing?"

Shizuru answered, "I'm trying to be romantic."

Natsuki said, "You're the best." During the movie Natsuki and Shizuru smiled at each other and held hands.

After the film was over Natsuki said, "It was pretty good."

Shizuru replied, "It was a very sweet film, but the characters in that film are nothing compared to you."

Natsuki said, "I'm hardly anything to be proud of you. I can barely take care of myself." She sighed and said, "I feel lost without you."

Shizuru smiled and replied, "I'm always here for you."

Natsuki said, "I'm going to have to grow up sometime."

Shizuru replied, "You have. Think about all the crimes you've stopped. That's not something that a inexperienced youngster could do."

Natsuki said, "I guess I'm not too bad."

Shizuru asked, "Do you simply think of yourself as being not that bad?"

Natsuki shrugged her shoulders and answered, "I guess so."

Shizuru replied, "You're amazing. I'm the one that's not very special."

Natsuki couldn't stand to hear such a thing so she said, "You shouldn't ever feel like that. You rock. When I was younger I tried to be an edgy hero. I thought I could be some punk who hid her feelings away from anybody, but you gave me feelings of happiness that were too big to hide."

Shizuru replied, "I've always loved you and it seems like overtime you've fallen in love with me too."

Natsuki said, "You and my mom thought I'd be lonely, but deep down I knew I wouldn't be. Your love is always in my heart. I don't have to be in the same room or even the same house to feel the love that you bring to my heart. The real reason I'm not lonely is because I know you'll always support and love me and I'm going to love you forever too."

Shizuru replied, "That's very comforting to hear darling. Sounds like I was wrong about you being lonely."

Natsuki smiled and said, "I'm still glad that you came. The most wonderful times of my life are when we are together."

Shizuru replied, "Well, I was right about you saying the things that I want to hear the most. Thank you for being the biggest and most important thing in my heart."

Natsuki hugged Shizuru and said, "I love you so much."

Shizuru replied, "I love you a lot."

An hour later Natsuki yawned and said, "I'm going to start getting ready for bed."

Shizuru replied, "I better start heading home and getting ready for bed."

Natsuki said, "Thank you for giving me a wonderful evening."

Shizuru kissed Natsuki and replied, "You're welcome."

After Shizuru left Natsuki went to her bedroom and got on her pajamas. Her mom called and asked, "Are you feeling lonely?"

Natsuki answered, "I felt a tiny bit lonely earlier, but the comforting feelings of love make sure my heart is never truly lonely."
