AN: This is a short little drabble about Emily dealing with recent events. Basically came to mind when I read spoilers about Morgan being the – temporarily - new team leader. I can´t wait to see how that is going to turn out and what it does with the team dynamics, how everyone is going to react etc..
Short, but I had to write it down. Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Chain of events
I'm sitting with my knees tucked under my chin in one of the comfortable chairs in the hotel lounge. Not being able to sleep I went down to grab a soda from one of the machines I'd seen when we first got here. My mind has been drifting ever since we arrived at the hotel. Too much to take in. Too much to compartmentalize for now. Me the queen of compartmentalizing couldn't handle this. Though not showing on the outside, it had been eating at me from the inside. The bucket called my brain was full by the end of the day. And by the time I'd reached my room, it had over floated. There was only so much a person could take. After everything that has happened recently, this had been the last straw for me. The last drop that made all the others drift to the surface. It is all so confusing.
As I said before I went down to the hotel lounge. That's where I'm still sitting now. It's dark here. And I'm alone. I take a sip of the soda that's been in my hands for too long. The - now not so cold - liquid soothing my throat. Though it came as somewhat of a shock, the recent change of team dynamics hadn´t really surprised me all that much. But still.. it's weird taking orders from someone that has been my equal for three years.
It's even weirder considering someone I've seen as only my boss for the last three years as a.. what exactly? As what should I see him now? I'm not sure yet about his status. I sigh and shift a little in the soft leather chair.
All I'm sure of for now is that he is Aaron Hotchner. Valued member of this team.
And that's what he'll always be.
