Boarding School
"Bennie, no! Don't touch that" I yelled at the small Squirtle, hunched over a large purple box. "Bennie, I have told you to stay out of my chocolate stash. You have your own!" He turned around, his face covered in the remains of my chocolate stash, that I had been hoarding for 6 months.
"But I'm hungry Kiara" his reply was, as he closed the lid of my now half empty box. With I sigh, I left the room and returned to my painting. A little bit of purple here, and a splash of yellow, I thought, mixing up the colours. The final product was a portrait of Hillary, my best friend and trainer. I swang my fiery tail toward the canvas, drying the fresh paint I had just added. I really couldn't be bothered waiting for it to dry, as I was eager to give it to Hillary. As I waited for her to get home from school, I noticed a letter in the letter box. It was a small letter, with a gold crest on the corner. Feeling slightly curious, I broke the seal on the back, on took out the nicely folded letter.
Miss Turbot, it read, you have been accepted into the fine ladies boarding school for the summer term. Boarding school, I thought, that means that she will be living at school. Away from Bennie. And away from me.
After folding the letter once more and placing it back in the envelope I walked to my cubby in the yard. The summer term was in 2 weeks. And in 2 weeks I will be losing Hillary for 10 weeks. "Knock knock" called a squeaky voice that I instantly recognised as Bennie. "go away' I cried. "Oh, who is a grumpy Charmader, aye Kiara?"
"Am, not!" I screeched, my eyes welling up with tears. "You won't understand". If only I could tell Bennie that Hillary was going to this 'fine ladies' school, he would know what to do. He was the thinker, I was the creative one. Though, his 'genius' ideas ended in my near death, Bennie being caught by the FBI and a police chase through the city centre. Though, it would be worth it if it actually works out, and I still have all my body parts connected to my torso.
Suddenly, a high voice pierced my train of thought. "Kiara, Bennie, I'm home.' Don't worry, I assured myself, Hillary wont leave us for a whole 10 weeks. I don't think she will lea–"oh, I've got a letter" came her voice, followed by the creek of the letter box opening. "dang", I cursed under my breath as I ran to her side. "you have been accepted to the fine ladies boarding school. For the summer term"
" oh that's great", I said, trying to sound happy. "Bennie!", I yelled, " I need to talk to You!"
