She'd heard whispers about him, from impressionable rookies and grizzled old sergeants. Though she never saw him, she wanted to believe the rumors.

Finally, it happened. She'd stayed late catching up on paperwork. Tiredly reaching the top of the stairs, she lost her balance and started to topple down the staircase, when strong arms caught her. She looked up into the blue eyes of the ghost of the 27th's best detective and her best friend.

"Lennie!"

"Hey, Lieu."

"Why've I never seen you before?"

"It's against the rules."

"You never had any trouble getting around rules."

"Believe it or not, I got a tougher boss now."
