Carly had made it apparent for about almost a year that she had finally realized her feelings for Freddie, it grew each day as he was there for her through all the good and bad times. He, of course had given up on her, but was still there as her best friend to help her maneuver and cope with whatever heartaches she had, whether it be breaking up with her boyfriend, or trying to get over her dad's death, he was there, no questions asked.

They gave each other one long lasting hug that felt like an eternity for her. He stood there, amazed she finally said the words he'd wanted to hear for so long. Unfortunately, his heart didn't feel the same anymore like he did when he was first in love with her. He told her, "I love you too, but not in the way you love me right now. I'm sorry, I'll always love you but only as a friend.' He smiled sadly, knowing that he just probably tore her heart into little pieces, but he couldn't stay. He had to live his life and move on, even if meant breaking the heart of the one person he swore in his life he never would hurt.
