Master and Dragon
Katsuya stared after the dragon, still very upset. He felt strangely satisfied he made the beast whimper like that with his harsh words. But he couldn't help it.
He felt so betrayed.
He understood he was in heat, but calling so obviously for a mate, purring and growling like that while flapping those wings that made him look so utterly beautiful and majestic…!
Katsuya hated the fact. He just hated it, no reason whatsoever, just… did so, duh!
He bristled and turned around swiftly, stomping back home from the forest, cursing everything colourfully.
But he couldn't ease the paranoia, no matter how much he swore, how hard his steps were. The thought that his dragon will soon call someone else his Master lingered at the back of his mind and it made him shudder as a chill of fear ran down his spine.
The fear to lose a true companion, someone he fully trusted, who was always there to listen to him. How foolish he had been!
Katsuya hardened himself. NO! His dragon betrayed him! Played with him! Made him fall in…
But what was he talking about just now? What are these foolish words? His dragon… he was an ANIMAL! Nothing more, just a pet! Yes… yes, a pet that could talk, that was always so warm when he was cold, that stroked his hair so gently, that was so very beautiful when he soared in the sky… so… perfect.
Katsuya stopped in the middle of the street. Everything seemed so cold… so empty without those growls in the distance. Without that protective dark shadow above him…
So empty.
So very… very empty…
Suddenly, he turned around and began running back to the forest, panting and gasping for air desperately, his eyes wide with fright, warm tears of regret staining his cold cheeks.
Stopping in the clearance, he stared up at the sky. Should he shout? Should he wait?
Will he come back?
Will… he come back?
Will he… come… back? Will he forgive?
"…Red-Eyes…" Katsuya whispered quietly, wiping his tears away roughly with the back of his hand as he sniffled, looking up at the sky.
And too soon, he noticed a large black figure approaching, the dragon landing smoothly in front of him, full of perfect grace as he folded his large wings.
Crimson bore into amber and the air was thick around them as they locked gazes, Master and Dragon.
The beast then bowed respectfully.
"Master called me." He murmured softly.
Katsuya gave a cry of relief and he ran to throw his arms around the creature's neck, sobbing loudly into the scaly skin, his hands gripping into the hard muscles desperately as he pressed himself as close as possible.
"Mine!" He whispered hoarsely, his voice tense with the desire to own, in his mad moment of glee.
"…yours, Master. Only yours until eternity." The dragon replied in a quiet purr, wrapping a large wing over the young man as a shelter from the chilly weather.
