Torchwood had all sorts of informational brochures. They were about sixty years out of date, completely politically incorrect, and had titles like, "How to Cope With the Gruesome and Untimely Death of a Co-worker" or "How to Come to Terms With the Resurrection of Your Previously Deceased Peer" or "What Do You Mean We Buried You Alive?".

Ianto's personal favourite was, "Date Rape, Embezzlement, and Rock and Roll: Retcon and All Its Misuses". No one ever really bothered to read them and they collected dust like no one's business, but it almost felt sacrilegious to throw them out. They were just as much a part of Torchwood as Jack was (but then again, Jack wasn't here now, was he?) .

Pained by his own thoughts, Ianto stopped dusting the old brochures and closed his eyes; there was a reason he kept himself so busy anymore. Must be time for more coffee…

It wasn't healthy the way he repressed all thoughts of J-him, but for now feeling nothing was what was keeping him sane and Torchwood needed at least one sane member.
