Part 1: Fun & Fears
Once upon a time, 2 children were born exactly a month apart from each other. Austin was born to Mimi and Mike Moon on January 21st, 1996. Ally was born to Penny and Lester Dawson on February 21st, 1996. They both had their moms' looks, and their dads' personalities. Austin had short blonde hair, like his mom, and he liked performing, like his dad. Ally had long brown hair, like her mom, and liked music, like her dad. When they were 5, they discovered their songwriting talents. They would write songs and then perform them in front of their kindergarten classmates. They had fun doing it. But fears would soon end their fun.
When Austin was 9, he and his 4th grade class went on a field trip to the beach. He tried to pull off a flying stunt with his umbrella. Unfortunately, the wind blew too fast, which resulted in the hook getting stuck to his belt and the umbrella removing his pants. The whole class, including his friend Dez and the teacher, were all laughing at him. Everyone could see his truck boxers. He was humiliated. Now he never wanted to go near another umbrella ever again. He lost 2 things: his pants, and his thought for his own original songs. He could no longer write them himself. He needed help. Dez was of no use.
When Ally was 13, she tried to audition for the MUNY (Music University of New York). The auditions were held in the new family business, Sonic Boom. She was very confident in herself, but when she saw what the talent scout did to the last girl, she was terrified. She had some scary hallucinations, and ended up failing. She was humiliated. Now she couldn't perform her songs in front of people. She needed someone to perform them for her, and her friend Trish wasn't the right person.
Soon Austin and Ally realized that they needed each other, even though they didn't know each other.
