We'll Win it for Them.

Summery: One hour; two people; so many died. Written for Sabrina Granger-Weasly's Insecurity Competition on the Harry Potter Fanfiction Challenge Forum.

Alicia Spinnet was pacing outside the Grand Hall. Her eyes were slightly fogged with tears. She couldn't walk into the room and see her dead friends: Fred, Lavender, and so many more. Her black hair fell in front of her eyes, but she blew it back. When the strand fell again, Alicia quickly pushed it back.

What could she do? She had an hour before You-Know-Who would strike again, and yet she felt as if she only has seconds. She wanted-no needed- to say goodbye to her friends, knowing that any of them might die any second after You-Know-Who arrived.

Alicia blinked, causing a tear to roll down her cheek and hit the floor with a splash, which was barley audible over the screams in pain and sorrow coming from the Grand Hall. A second and third tear followed until Alicia was sobbing. She tried to calm down, but the pain in her heart and her realization that they may lose the war made her sob more, although it was nothing in volume to the cries in the Great Hall.K

Neville Longbottom was walking around the bodies, glad when he saw that none of his close friends had died, yet guilt hit him each time he saw someone he recognized.

He saw Fred, surrounded by his family. The hurt faces of the Weaslys hurt him more then any of the dead bodies. Tears were long from drying on George's face at the sight of his twin brother, his other half, dead. Molly's screams of pain and heartbreak were heard over all the rest as she held her son in her arms.

Lavender Brown's body was swarmed by friends. Parvatie was hysterically crying, and other others were just staring in shock at their died friend. "I'm sorry Lavender," Neville whispered under his breath. He then left the Great Hall, doing his best not to cry.

Neville saw Alicia, who was now leaning against a wall crying. The two gave each other a knowing look. Alicia opened her arms for a hug, which Neville took. Alicia cried of his shoulder.

"We will win," Neville said softly. "We'll win it for them."
