My Hero – A DBZ Fanfic

A/N – I do not own most of these characters, I merely attach the strings and make the puppets dance waggles fingers while cackling insanely

The reporter ran her fingers through her dyed red hair nervously.

"Do I have to do this?" she whined. "I really don't feel like dying today, that's all."

Her camera crew collectively rolled their eyes.

"You won't die", the boom operator said. "We're just over here, and we can call the cops if this gets out of hand. Buck up, Yoshiko. Come on."

Yoshiko groaned inwardly 'yeah, a fat lot of help they'll be. This guy is known to take out whole crowds of people by just waving his hand.' Yoshiko took a deep breath, squared her jaw and walked determinedly over to the arena. As she got closer, what little confidence she had began to waver.

"I'm Yoshiko Imihara, and I'm hopefully about to get an interview with Cell himself!"

Yoshiko took the last few steps toward Cell.

"E-excuse me, M-mr Cell, s-sir? I was j-just wondering, well, exactly what your mission is here on earth."

Yoshiko waited for a reply, but none came. She turned to her camera crew, and was about to shrug when she heard Cell chuckle.

"My mission?" Cell said. He gave another disturbingly evil chuckle, flung out his arm, palm out in the direction of the crew, and shot forth a bright light which disintegrated Yoshiko's crew with an explosion that knocked her backwards to the ground. Cell seemed amused. His ears pricked up when he heard the human woman whimpering behind him. She was giving off a scent of fear that was almost intoxicating. He turned around and smirked evilly as he regarded her cowering form. 'Eh, why not? I've got some time to kill before I kill Goku.'

He walked toward her, still smirking. Yoshiko looked up at Cell, wondering why he was looking at her so…so…she didn't want to think about it. Tears burned at the back of her eyes, but she didn't allow them to fall 'that would just be giving him what he wants'. But the look in his eyes let her know it wasn't all he wanted. A gasp of realisation caught in her throat. Without warning he lunged at her, pinning her beneath him.

"N-no, please don't", she cried.

Cell was so distracted he didn't notice the boot coming at high speed toward his head. Cell went flying, and Yoshiko found herself scooped up by a glowing teenager with blonde, spiky hair and bright green eyes.

"Don't worry, you'll be okay, miss", he said. "Where are you from?"

Yoshiko gazed in wonder at her rescuer, then at the birds-eye view of the countryside she was being treated to.

"W-west City. Who are you?"

The young man turned midair toward West City.

"My name is Trunks. Where in West City do you want to go?"

Yoshiko looked at him coyly. "Well, there's this nice coffee shop near my studio. Care to join me for a cup?"

Trunks looked surprised at first, than he smiled. "Sure, why not"

"Okay its right down there", Yoshiko said, pointing near a large white building with K-305 TV written on the roof.

"Shall we?" Trunks asked, and dove down toward the city, his new 'friend' throwing her arms around his neck and nuzzling her face into his chest.

"My Hero"

The End
