The young Norwegian stared as the red and gold spread over the dull blue and purple in the sky, meeting in an almost complete rainbow as the sun went down under the horizon. He always did like the break of night better when he was on the sea. Dull orbs briefly shifted, now watching how the ship gracefully broke through the waves, sliding through the grey waters. It was a familiar sight.

Norway looked down at his red shoes. They didn't quite reach the ground from his sitting position. After pondering this for a few seconds, he decided that he shouldn't be there. He didn't want to be there. His friends wanted a trip to Denmark, sure. But he didn't. As always, though, their pity won over his opinion.

He huffed, and started to kick his left foot into the table's leg. He soon created a rhythm, and tunelessly hummed the vocal part.

Laugher was heard from the other side of the room. Drunk people molested soon-to-be drunk people.

On the couch on the other side of the table sat his two friends. Tino leaned heavily on Berwalds shoulder, eyelids fluttering over unfocused purple-tinted orbs. Berwald looked at Norway when he heard the tired and slightly frustrated breath of air. Stern eyes burned into pale skin.

(It was a miracle that Norway didn't get at least a small sunburn from that, really.)

Their eyes finally met. Norway let out another breath through his nose, then crossed his arms. Berwald let his eyes go, and after a few silent seconds, Norway let his freed gaze wander through the room, out the window, over the skies and, at last, into the sea.

Norway looked out the window again, still kicking his feet back and forth in a steady rhythm. (He still wasn't reaching the floor with more than his toes.)

He stopped humming. The sky was darkening, from red to gold to blue to purple to white-spotted nothing and blue goldstone. It was beautiful. He pressed his head against the cold plastic, let out another huff and raised a hand to draw small circles in the breath on the now damp window.

It was going to be a long week.
