A Man's Heart
By Starsky's Strut

The moment he entered his apartment, Hutch knew something very bad had happened in there. He was instantly on high alert, but quickly realized the damage was done and the danger had passed. He looked about the torn apart room, the feeling of intense malice still hung thick in the air. He knelt and picked up a spider plant and righted a couple of smaller plants and that was when he saw her.

She lay broken and twisted on the floor. The blond rushed over and crouched next to her, hesitantly touching the smooth column of her neck, caressing it, though he knew from the way she lay on the floor, that neither science nor magic could ever bring her back to life. He was completely devastated as he stared at her shattered form, a lump rose high in the back of his throat.

He carefully, gently, tenderly, gathered her still form in his hands. As he held her, he recalled how she felt, when he held her in his arms. Her generous curves and hourglass shape, the slim beauty of her neck… she was smooth, velvet, to the touch and her sound… He closed his eyes. He would miss that the most, though he loved every bit of her. Loved the way she fit so perfectly to him, her body molded as if made just for him.

His body made for hers.

Their bodies together.

Their individual forms would become one… but yet more then one... Each was missing something without the other. But when they touched, they became more… each bringing the other to life in ways that very few understood, or ever could. She was his heart. He was her soul. With her in his arms, his spirit lifted, rose to dizzying heights… she made him sing and he made her pulse with the rhythm of life. She could gently bring him out of the worst moods and console him when he was sad. She was the balm he often needed after a long day at work. She was always there for him.

It seemed like she had been in his life forever… like he had loved her forever. It was overwhelming to think that she was gone… that he would never again hold her to himself, to feel her form pressing against his, so close that when she spoke, he could feel the vibrations ripple through his body, right down to his very soul.

"Damn." He dropped his chin to his chest as he carefully set her back down. Where was he ever going to find another guitar like this one?
