Bob stood facing the virus with confidence. There was no way Megabyte would win this time. His latest
scheme, kidnapping Bob to get the codes to the super computer, was failing miserably. But for the life of
him, Bob couldn't figure out why Megabyte had chosen such a low key plan. Hack and Slash had snuck
up on the guardian and knocked him out. When Bob came to, he was in the main room of Megabytes
tower. His key tool was in tact and he wasn't really hurt. Not really Megabytes usual style. Something
was up.
"Alright, Megabyte! What is it this time?" Bob asked. Megabyte stood in front of Bob, his
manor calm.
"Why Bob, I'm surprised." Megabyte replied smoothly. "Why do you assume that I'm up to
something? Surely there's no harm in having a comrade over to talk?"
"Huh, yeah right!" Bob scoffed. "We're comrades! And I'm the user!" Megabyte clenched his
fists for a moment. The comment seemed to upset him more that most of Bob's quips. Megabyte stepped
closer to Bob. The smirk on the guardian's face melted into a worried look.
"Now, now, Bob." Megabyte tried to control his temper. "What's an enemy, any way?"
"Viruses." Bob said, his voice a little shaky. "Viruses are the enemy."
"Oh really, Bob?" Megabyte drew even closer to Bob. "I was hoping we could bury the hatchet."
Bob had to step back.
"I don't get it, Megabyte. What are you up to this time?"
"Why Bob. Is it to much to believe that I simply want to be friends?" Bob laughed.
"Yeah, I guess it is! You're a virus, Megabyte! You're pure evil! Neither one of us can go
against our programming. I mean, give me a break! You expect me to just forget everything that's
happened and be buddies with a virus? I don't think so!"
Megabytes face went blank. He stepped back from Bob an inch. His arms sagged and he lowered
his head. Bob looked on in a combination of surprise, fear and awe. If Bob didn't know better, he'd say
Megabyte was about to cry.
"Uhhh...I'm....umm...outta here..." Bob said, still backing away from the virus. He turned to
walk away when Megabyte springed forward. He grabbed Bob by the shoulders and pulled him so that
they faced each other. Megabytes grip grew stronger as he glared at Bob.
"You're not going anywhere, guardian!"
Their eyes met and they stared at each other for what felt like forever. Bob swallowed a lump in
his throat. He was sure that he was done for. Megabytes searing gaze cut threw him like a knife.
Megabyte's face seemed to draw closer and closer to Bobs. Bob wasn't sure if what happened next really
happened, or if he dreamed it. Megabyte leaned in closer to Bob. And kissed him.
It was over as soon as it had started. Megabytes grip softened until he eventually let go of Bob.
Bob stared at the virus, unblinking. Megabyte's face was full of longing. Something unheard of a virus.
He looked to the guardian and spoke again.
