Attraction

-Smiles
Phoenix couldn't help but wonder how dull his life would be without Maya's smiling face. Actually, he dreaded the day that Maya's smile was no longer around.

-Fun
The chaos that ensued between himself and Maya in those burger joints was brilliant, he would never change it- Even if it was always his wallet that suffered from these excursions.

-Support
With Maya's support, Phoenix felt that he could take on any case in the world. He was unstoppable with her by his side.

-Friendship
If Maya's friendship was never there- He would just be another run-of-the-mill lawyer, looking to help a few people.

-Excitement
It seemed as if everywhere Maya went, led to a new experience. With that, brought excitement and excitement was something that Phoenix always wanted to be in his life.

-Family
He felt he owed it to Mia to protect her younger sister with his life, not to pressure her into a relationship. To be in a relationship with Maya felt like a betrayal of sorts to Mia.

-Friendship
If a relationship began between Phoenix and Maya then the possibility that it could lead to the ruin of their friendship was always there. He needed Maya's friendship and would do nothing to jeopardize it.

-Age
There would always be that frightening aspect of people looking down on a relationship between Phoenix and Maya because of the seven year age difference. This made Phoenix feel slightly afraid to love her.

-Feelings
Would his love for her be returned? She had never shown any signs that she held romantic feelings for him. Well, none that he had noticed.

-Jobs
If Phoenix did tell Maya of his feelings and she returned them, they wouldn't really have that much time to spend with each other anyways. What with Maya becoming Master of Kurain and him as the big shot defence attorney that he now was.

It looked like friendship would have to stay for a little while longer before he could decide.

Totally got the idea for this from Selphie Ivy's fic, Pure Love which is over at the Final Fantasy VIII fanfiction.
I'm a total sucker for Phoenix x Maya but I can imagine Phoenix weighing up why he can and can't tell Maya of his feelings for her. I've never wrote a fic like this before and this is my first time ever writing one for the Ace Attorney series. ;) Hope you enjoyed it.
