He was a monster.

That was what they had always told him, and he played the part rather well. He killed people in cold blood, expressionless. He went unfeeling, as the life was pulled out of his victims.

The Desert Graveyard.

The sand slowly crawling up the victim's leg. They never had a chance.

The Demon of the Sand

Shukaku

There were many names that the villagers called him. They were truly afraid. To them, he was the reincarnation of Shukaku. He would turn on them at the very first chance.

And he believed them about this too. This was the reason that he killed. It was either them or him. Survival of the fittest. His existence would not be denied.

They tried to kill him numerous times. Assassination attempts when he was younger and weak. But he would destroy the assassins in the end. Always in cold blood.

But, no matter what they called him, he never really hurt them. It was always those from the other villages, from his missions, and those few who would try and hurt him. Those who had witnessed these brutal deaths became afraid. They spread the rumors of these murders to others. Parents feared for there lives and those of their children.

But Gaara never hurt them.

If anything, he was their savior. He dealt with his 'mother's' talk. Her constant talk for blood. And he obeyed. But never with a fellow Sand shinobi's blood.

He would never hurt his siblings. No matter how they feared him or cursed him, he knew it wasn't their fault. It was their father's, which is why, no matter how much he hated spilling the blood of the villagers, he wanted to kill his own father, for making him into this monster.

He saved the village more times than he can count. He risked so much for them, even his sanity. He knew never to fall asleep. The mayhem and destruction he caused were enough for him to know that. So every single night, he would stay on the roof, counting the stars, trying not to think or listen to the insane whining of the raccoon, in his head. Doesn't that count as saving them?

Gaara wasn't a monster. Not really.

A little in sight to Gaara, or how I think of him. Sorry for such a long delay in my writing, I've been very busy lately and still am.

Sorry if the writing style is a little confusing for you.
