I will remember you.

Will you remember me?

He was my first love.

But then again, as cynical Bella always said, "You never marry your first love."

Somehow, I had. Because that first moment we met, I was in love. Of course, the love faltered, but in the end, it came again.

My first love was a little boy with blond hair and big brown eyes. My last love was a tall man with sandy hair and wrinkly, cheerful brown eyes. But it was, essentially, my love. First and last.

But he's gone, now, gone forever. Lost because of love—lost thanks to loss of love.

Love meant so much in our lives. He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named never loved, and that is why Ted died. We loved each other enough that he went on the run—and that is why he died. We loved Nymphadora enough to allow her to live her life, and with that, she joined the Order, told us You-Know-Who was back, and told us it would be better if he left—and that is why he died.

Somehow, guilt tripping does nothing, because Dora is gone as well. Dora and Ted will never be back.

But it is love's fault, and now I am without my first, last, and only love.

"You never marry your first love."

No, Bella was wrong all those years ago, as she is now. I married my first love, but somehow, now he isn't here to be my love. So really, it should be, "You will never always have your first love." Whether you marry them or not, they will not always be yours.

I will remember Ted for the rest of my life. He was my first love. Even if I will not always have him, he is my first love, and the fact will remain true for the rest of eternity. He is mine no longer--he is Death's. But I have not lost my first love. Now, all I can do is wait--for Death to take me as well--and then we can be together again. Forever.

You will never always have your first love.

But you will always remember them.

Don't let your life pass you by.

Wait not for the memories.

A/N: I don't really like this piece, but I'd love to hear your thoughts--review!! This was written for the First Love and Love Song challenges at the HPFC (as always!). In case it was unclear, the narrator is Andromeda Tonks. Please review? It's the only payment fanfic authors, like poor little old me, will ever get!!
