Author Note: Based on the episode 'Primum Non Nocere' in season two. Any words that are in "blah" are speech and any that are in 'hmm' are thoughts. When Sara and Grissom were stood watching the ice melt looking for the tooth.

"... So we have an hour and twenty minutes for a tooth, the whole tooth and nothing but the tooth."

'Oh my god what a cheesy thing to say, I shouldn't be allowed out in public! But he smiled, and what he said was cheesy too. Lovely but cheesy.

Sara shivered visibly.

'Oh! Since he said that I feel all tingly and I tremble each time I remember.'

Grissom frowned gently and walked over to stand next to where Sara was stood. Her eyes were directed at the ice pile in front of her but they looked glazed.

'Oh my god! He just wrapped his arm around me. His hand is touching my left arm, I use that arm for everything and he's touching it! It's like that time 3 years ago when... No! I can't think about that, I'll get my hopes up. Oh my, oh my...'

"I thought you were cold, you shivered." Grissom looked quizzically down at Sara who had tensed when he touched her. He went to withdraw his hand but, with a speed that startled him, she grabbed his left hand with her right and spun round so that she was staring him in the face. She scrutinised him like a particularly unusual piece of evidence.

'Is he...? Does he want...? When I look into his eyes I see the same passion as on that night, but, what else is there, fear? Or maybe anxiety?'

"I am a little cold, you know with all the ice..."

'Damn it! That was lame, come on Sara pull yourself together!'

"But that isn't really why I shivered. I was thinking about what you said before," Grissom looked puzzled, "When we were sat in the stands." Grissom's face changed from puzzled to a look of realisation then straight onto panic.

"What I said? That... that made you shiver?"

'Oh crap!'

"No! Well yes but not like that!"

'Stop scrambling for words! You're freaking him out! Take a deep breath and explain."

Sara gripped Grissom's hand tighter so that he looked up from the floor and straight into her eyes. "I think you misunderstood, I shivered from some mixture of excitement, memory and... and anticipation." Sara whispered the last word but from Grissom's bright blue eyes she knew he had heard.

He glanced around the room carefully,

'He's planning his escape, damn I shouldn't have said anything. See he's trying to pull his hand away.'

But Grissom kept a firm grip on her hand as he walked purposefully to a small storage room and opened the door. Here he stopped looking back at Sara uncertainly. She smiled at him, showing her nervousness to reflect his own. They stepped inside and closed the door.

When he entered the coroner's lab 2hours later looking a little ruffled, Dr Robbins asked him what had kept him, Grissom smiled wryly and replied, "I was watching ice melt."
