Challenge word: blunt
I seem to be on a soulless!Sam kick since I started this challenge. It's odd because I've only written one thing about him before. However, he fascinates me so yay for being inspired to write more about him!
Doubts
Dean can't even be charitable enough to call Sam's words blunt. They're tactless, thoughtless and needlessly cruel- Dean's dread increases with each utterance. He's never seen his brother this way. Even in his worst fights with their father, there was cause for the verbal knives Sam threw.
"What?" Sam's got an amused look on his face.
"We're trying to get information from these people, Sam. Not insult them then scare them to death."
"Got it, didn't I?" Sam shrugs.
"Yeah," Dean concedes, "it's how….."
Sam's expression doesn't change and Dean wonders again how much of his brother escaped the cage.
