She is in void for only a moment- then a cold wall slammed in her. She was submerged.
What is the point of living? I already know I'm falling.
She is dying- and even she knows that. The impact with the water is still fresh in her memory. The pain. All the cats she loved- taken away from her. Slowly.
Bluestar remembers Snowfur's smile, Mosskit's liveliness, Moonflower's loving gaze and Oakheart's teasing grin.
I will be with them soon. Bluestar reassures herself.
The memory of Snowfur's death is agonizing. Her running away, Snowfur on the Thunderpath, her snowy fur red with blood, drops of it trickling from her mouth.
There was Mosskit. Bluestar's sweet daughter. Thinking about her allowed a sob to violently rack Bluestar's body. Mosskit's unmoving icy body, Snowfur's words.
I will take care of her. She's already gone.
Moonflower's death devastated Bluestar the most. Hawkheart's triumphant eyes. Moonflower's life fading away from a gash in her throat. How was she to survive the sorrow?
The future ThunderClan rested in Firestar's paws. Bluestar trusted him with that.
You can't die yet. Our kits are waiting.
Our kits! Oakheart!
Bluestar flailed her paws. The shortage of air weakened her.
It's just like running. Let the water do the work.
Bluestar's paws churned much more easily, and when she set her blue eyes on the light, It got closer.
Oakheart's eyes flashed through her vision and Bluestar felt a frosty paw on her paw. For a moment.
She feels a tug on her fur and gives in to the current.
Suddenly-
Bluestar could breathe again. Her breaths come in rasps.
Mistyfoot and Stonefur. Oakheart was right.
Both of her kits looked sorrowful as water trickled of Bluestar's body. Fireheart looms over her fearfully. "Bluestar? It's Fireheart. You'll be ok-"
"Don't waste your breath, Fireheart. I'm already on my way to StarClan," Bluestar's voice quavered.
Mistyfoot looked sorrowful.
"If you could find a way to forgive me, It will be enough." Bluestar's eyes overflowed with hot tears.
"We forgive you." Mistyfoot says after moments of hesitation.
"We forgive you." Stonefur echoes flatly, and Bluestar winces visibly.
Bluestar opens her mouth but Mistyfoot interrupts. "Save your voice."
"Fireheart, you will be a great leader, one of the best ThunderClan has had. You will be Firestar, the light of ThunderClan."
Fireheart is mute with sadness. Bluestar's breath is coming in ragged gasps. The world blurred around her, and the last thing she saw was three pairs of eyes glittering with sadness, two blue, one a glowing green. Bluestar gave into the darkness that willingly encased her in its void.
You will be a great leader.
It seemed like eternity that darkness surrounded her.
Her body was cold.
Impossible, numbing coldness.
When Bluestar opened her eyes, a pair of joyful green eyes greeted her. The ice that encased her melted all at once.
"Mosskit!" She gasps.
All the cats she loved- Moonflower, Snowfur, Oakheart- have come to welcome her, their coats glittering with frost and starlight.
"It's been a long time," Snowfur's azure eyes glowed.
"Mother!" Mosskit squeals.
Tears fill Bluestar's eyes. She has arrived at StarClan.
Please review, I swear I cried myself writing this!
