So my entry for the challenge, takes place during Mojave Airport. They said it was cold, and KC was sick so this was born, wellst I froze my ass off in 18 degrees this morning. I also can't remember if in Mojave if Riley and KC go on a sweep, but in this one I wrote them going on a sweep, so yah.
KC rammed her hands into her coat pocket, it was 30 degrees outside, and she was freezing. She was also sick, and the combination of the two made her wish she could stay home and sleep, but she had an investigation. It was only there third "official" investigation, and she didn't want to let them down, so she'd suffer. Riley walked closely next to KC, he had noticed her coughing, and sneezing when she entered headquarters, he had wandered why she didn't stay home.
"Are you really that cold," he asked shuffling through the bag over his shoulders he had tossed an extra pair of gloves in there in case someone forgot them.
"Yes," she mumbled shivering.
"Here," he said pulling the gloves out.
"Thanks," she said pulling them on. KC felt like her legs were going to fall off. Riley looked back at KC, she was starting to stumble. He thought quick.
"Let's set base up over there," he said pointing to a plane near by.
"Fine with us," the rest agreed as they headed up the planes steps. Riley who usually would lead let Sam go ahead of him, well he stayed behind to make sure KC didn't fall backwards and to her doom. Everyone made it into the plane in one piece. And soon Riley was passing out instructions on where everyone would set up cameras.
"And KC you are staying at base to warm up a bit," Riley said as everyone headed out to set up the cameras. Everyone returned no more then fifteen minutes later.
"So, why don't KC and I go check out the fighter planes before she falls asleep," he said looking at his friend who was falling asleep on the plane floor.
"Do I have too," she mumbled getting up.
"Yes," he teased.
"Fine," she said following him out of the plane.
"Come on slow poke," he teased again.
"I'm freezing and sick," she grumbled.
"And what can I do to help you?"
"Magically make it warm," she said looking at him hopefully. He walked closer to her and put his arm around her.
"This is the best I can do for you," he smiled.
"Well it helps alittle," she said watching him as he lead her to the fighter plane. They carried on with the investigation, but didn't get much so they returned to base twenty minutes later.
"Can I stay here the rest of the night," KC whined as she made it back to the plane.
"I guess, but someone better stay with you in case you fall asleep, we don't want to miss something important,"
"Fine with me," she said yawning as she sat down on the plane. The rest of the investigation ran smoothly, until Jackie, Sam, and Zach went to check on the plane where the door had opened earlier, leaving Riley and KC at base.
"Riley I'm so tired," she yawned resting her head on his shoulder.
"We're going to leave shortly after they get back."
"Okay," she yawned again slowly drifting to sleep. The others returned thirty minutes later with the cameras in tow.
"Well you two had an interesting time, well we were going," Jackie laughed looking at KC snuggled up next to Riley.
The next day at headquarters.
"Thanks Riley," KC walked in feeling better.
"Thanks for what," he asked looking up from what he was looking at.
"For watching out for me," she smiled.
"So you saw all the clips from last night."
"I did," she laughed as she sat down on the stool across from him and started thumbing through the evidence she was to go over.
So, it was sweet. Not couply yet fluffy.
