Elliot sits on his couch, in the dark. Top button of his shirt undone, beer bottle in had. Suddenly the door bell rings and sighing he heaves himself from his position on the couch and putting the beer bottle on the table he goes to the door. Opening the door he's surprised to see who it is.

"What are you doing here?" he asks bitterly, letting her inside.

"Why haven't you signed the papers?" she says annoyed, and sad. He turns to her and gives her a look.

"I…I" he shrugs his shoulders and shakes his head.

"Please…please just sign the papers" sadness is in her eyes as she begs him. He shakes his head and again walking over to her he takes her into her arms and kisses her. He feels the tears slide down her cheek and settles into the kiss. She losses herself for a moment, then breaks the kiss by pushing him away.

"Don't...don't" she closes her eyes and steps away from him when he tries to grab her hand. "Just sign the papers and let me go" he steps closer to her again and she steps back. "Just sign the papers" she tells him again, as she hands him the papers and a pen. He looks at her pleadingly and signs.

"Why?" is all he asks.

"Your never home…I don't even know who you are anymore"

"I am a police officer for New York City. I am a father of four, a husband. But I am nothing without you or the kids" he tries for her hand again and she lets him take it. "I need you. I know that I'm never home, but God…I try…I try to be there for you and the kids, it's just so hard. And I know that I've hurt you and that I wasn't there for you when you needed me most. But please, please, please don't do this. I love you" and with those last words he pulls her closer to him, stoking her cheek and wiping away her tears.

"I love you too, El" she brings her arms around his neck and kisses him. Ripping the papers and letting the fall to the ground behind them.
