"Clueless"

Shakespeare's Lemonade

Rating: K

Genre: Humor/Friendship

Summary: Boredom, boardgames, rules. This is not a good day at the office for the ODS. And it's about to get worse.

A/N: My friend, Ali, suggested I write: Chaos plays Clue. So, here it is. This story is purely meant to be funny, which isn't usually something I would do, but I thought people might enjoy it.

CHAOS

"Hey, Martinez, you can't do that," Billy said, grabbing Rick's hand and stopping it's movement.

Rick looked at him curiously and somewhat annoyed. "Why not?" he said.

"You can only move in straight lines," Casey said. "Not diagonally."

"And you can't go over someone else," Billy said.

Casey nodded. "It's a scientific law that two objects cannot occupy the same space."

"Haven't you ever played this game?" Michael asked.

"Yeah, when I was seven," Rick said. "Why are we doing this anyway."

"Higgins is irritated at us again," Casey said.

"So there's naught to do until he gets over it," Billy said. "Now follow the rules."

Rick shook his head in disbelief. "I never thought I'd hear any of you say that."

"This is Clue," Casey said. "Not Cuba."

"You can't deny us a little order once in a while," Michael said. "Now, finish your turn."

Rick rolled his eyes and tried to decide where to move his piece since he couldn't go the way he wanted to. Next, it was Michael's turn and Rick hadn't been able to make sense of any of his moves.

Then Billy threw up his hands. "I got it!" he said.

"How can you know already?" Rick asked.

Billy took the envelope with the answer cards inside and held it between his fingers. "It's Professor Plumb in the library with the lead pipe," he said.

"There's no way you have that figured out," Rick argued.

But Billy threw the cards down on the table and they proved him right.

Michael and Casey sighed, tossing their cards onto the board. Rick looked between them, still confused.

"I think he cheats," Michael said.

Casey shook his head. "It's a mind game," he said.

"Yeah, don't ever let Michael convince you to play Chess," Billy said. "It won't end pretty."

"Okay, how about we play a game I'm good at?" Rick asked.

Michael raised his eyebrows. "Such as?"

Rick smiled and balled up a piece of scrap paper. Tossing it up and catching it, he said, "Baseball."

"Oh!" Billy stood up. "I have a better idea." He smiled as he looked at all of them "Dodge-ball."

It was only after the paper started flying and Rick was cowering behind his desk that he thought maybe boardgames were a much better idea for ODS downtime.
