She was yours first, that's why I want her.
Itachi remembered Orochimaru since when he was a child, even though he was only five when the snake-nin left Konoha. When he came face to face with him again at the age of thirteen as he joined Akatsuki, he did not back down when questioned about their home village.
Anko is doing fine. She's grown up well. She's still a mess but she was good to me. A look. Orochimaru smiles. Itachi doesn't, but he knows that Orochimaru fills in the blanks, gets the picture even when half painted.
He was mine first, that's why you wanted him.
Orochimaru watches Itachi. Part of him doesn't like the idea that there are so few Sharingan users left – so few to choose between. Another part of him is glad though – once he has the Sharingan he will be one of very, very few. Itachi doesn't want to play with Orochimaru though, doesn't want to spend time with him, doesn't want to pretend to be his friend, and he's too strong to force. That's alright though, because Itachi knew he did wrong when he killed his own blood, and there's an avenger just ripe for the picking.
Sasuke is doing fine. He's growing up well. He's still a mess but he's good to me. A look. Orochimaru smiles. Itachi doesn't, but he knows that Orochimaru won't fill in the blanks, won't show him more than an empty canvas and the paints he plans to use.
That's alright though.
Sasuke will come running to him, screaming bloody murder, and it doesn't matter what Orochimaru does to the boy until then – because Sasuke will stay alive until he has killed Itachi.
And Anko will come running after Orochimaru, screaming bloody murder, and it doesn't matter what Itachi has done to her then – because it was so much less scary the second time around.
