Hermione burst through the common room door with force. She had so many emotions crossing her face that Harry and Ron, who where the only ones awake at the time, were surprised. They both thought she was upstairs getting some sleep, since finals were tomorrow. Ron, not knowing how to deal with her when she was like this, quickly said goodnight to Harry and ran upstairs. Harry was exhausted, and he wanted to go to bed, but he knew that something was wrong with Hermione. He decided to go talk to her and see what was bothering her. As he crossed the room, he realized that tears were rolling down her cheeks, and he quickly wiped it away.

"What's wrong?" he asked.

"Victor broke up with me!" she sobbed into Harrys shoulder.

"I'm so sorry." he said, a little unsure of how else to respond.

"I thought he was the one," she said between tears, "Harry, I thought he was the one. I loved him…"

Harry was very surprised to hear this. He knew that Hermione liked him a lot, but they had only been dating for a few months. How could she love him? Harry knew what love was. He had felt it for Hermione every day since he and Ron had saved her from the troll in the bathroom.

They sat down, and for a few minutes, all she could do was lay on his chest and cry. Harry felt bad for Hermione, but in another way he was glad, because now he could finally tell her how he felt.

"Hermione, you're looking for love in the wrong places," Harry said.

"What do you mean?" she replied.

"Victor wasn't good enough for you. No one is. You're too perfect. I don't ever want to see you cry. You are the most beautiful girl alive, and anyone who hurts you like this doesn't deserve to know you," Harry said a little nervously, not knowing how his best friend/crush would react to this.

"Harry, that's very sweet of you, and I've finally realized something."

"What's that?" Harry asked.

"The person I should be with is right beside me, and I'm crying on his shoulder like an idiot."

Harry was so happy that he wanted to burst into tears, tears of joy. He didn't think that this would happen, especially not like this. Here they were, together in the common room, weeping like a couple of women watching soap operas. He lifted her chin so that he could look at her, and he kissed her.

This was a night they would remember forever, but right now they both had to get to bed. They did have finals tomorrow.

"I'll see you tomorrow," Harry said.

He felt like the happiest guy in the world. They went up the stairs to their rooms and dreamed about that night. In the morning they held hands everywhere, and they kissed and snuggled at breakfast. They were practically inseparable the entire day, just like they would be for the rest of their lives. They had finally found love, true love, and neither of them could ask for anything more than that.
