The club was packed full of raging boys and girls, the air smelled like sweat and the floor was slick with it. Dan was having a blast, his heart racing with the steady pulse of the techno beat.

Out of the corner of his eye he spotted the a flash of gold, causing his heart to actually stop for a moment.

No. He thought. No, this cannot be happening. How did he find me?" Dan had turned into a nocturnal being as of late. Only going out at night had become part of his ritual to keep his distance from the mysterious Man in Gold.

Suddenly there was a whisper of hot breath on his ear. He whirled his body around, prepared to face whatever or whomever the Gold Man was. But there was no one. Just the same dancers he had been around all night long.

Convinced that he'd just imagined that flash of gold, Dan made is way to a secluded area of the club to clear his head for a minute.

It's getting pretty late, he thought. Maybe I'm just overtired and paranoid. Putting his head between his knees, Dan breathed slowly, clearing the air in his head. He opened his eyes slowly, only to see a shiny pair of gold shoes just centimetres away from his scuffed converse.

"What the hell, man!?" Dan jolted, jumping onto the couch, trying to remain out of reach of the Gold Man.

"Hello, Daniel"

"Please, can we not do this now?" Dan's eyes shifted around nervously, hoping someone might get his silent cry for help.

"Shh." The Gold Man put a finger to Dan's lips, rendering his mouth useless.

"Daniel, I have been searching for you for a while. You changed your schedule. Didn't you."

Please. Please, someone help me. I'm going to die here. I just know it. Please someone help!

Out of nowhere, there was a bright light and a black hole appeared. From somewhere within, three men jumped out of the hole. Two were in what appeared to be a superhero get up, while the third was dressed as a cat, complete with a tail and whiskers.

"Have no fear, Common Ranch Hand! KicktheStickz and our trusty sidekick AmazingCat are here to save you!"

"I'm not a Ranch Hand" Said Dan.

"Yes you are." Said one of the Heroes.

"Mmmm….Nope." Said Dan.

"Yes Yes." Said the other Hero.

This went on for quite a while until AmazingCat nipped at the Hero's toe.

"What is it, AmazingCat?"

"Purr Purr, Meow Meow. Meow." Said the cat in an obviously human voice.

"The Gold man is goine? How did this Happen?!"

"Ah well, we'll get him next time."

Just as they were about to leave, Dan grabbed the arm of the taller of the two Heroes.

"But wait! He's going to kill me. You can't just leave me here!"

"Puuuuuurrrrrrr." Said AmazingCat.

"AmazingCat wants you to come with us." The Hero whispered. "He'll make cookies."

Dan didn't question where he was headed, or how this human-cat could make cookies, or even how many finger were on his left hand. All he did was climb into the black hole.

And all was well.
