Hermione's Christmas visit
A missing moment from The Carefree Year.
Note: I do not own any part of Harry Potter. All belongs to J.K. Rowling.
Mr. and Mrs. Granger were sitting by the fire and they heard a pop.
"Who's there?" asked Mr. Granger, turning around to defend himself. He then turned his face of worry into a surprised face. Their daughter, Hermione, had Apparated into the house.
"Sweetie," said Mr. Granger. Mrs. Granger was also shocked, but was glad that her daughter had stopped by her home.
"Merry Christmas, Mom and Dad," said Hermione as she handed them their Christmas presents from her.
"Thanks," Mrs. Granger said as she put them under the tree. "You want something to drink?"
"Sure, why don't we all get some tea?" Hermione suggested.
"Wonderful, I'll start making it right away," said Mrs. Granger.
"Here Mom, let me help you," said Hermione. When she said it however, she meant it in the muggle way.
"You sure, Hermione?" her mom asked. Hermione gave her mom a look like she wanted to talk to her about a subject she wasn't comfortable talking about it
"Okay, honey. We'll being back the tea in here, dear," Hermione's mom directed to her dad.
"Sure thing."
Hermione and her mom went in the kitchen and started to prepare the tea. While they were getting it ready, Hermione's mom asked, "Why do I get the feeling that's my girl's in love with someone?"
"You would win on that if that was a bet, Mom," said Hermione.
"So, who's the lucky guy?" her mom asked.
"To tell you the truth, its one of my best friends who I've fallen in love with," Hermione admitted.
"I take it its your friend Ron, huh?" Hermione nodded as her mom asked the question.
"I don't know why, but he seems to complete me," Hermione started to explain. "He likes to challenge me, but I seem to like it whenever he does it. And, I don't know, but, he's always there to help protect the ones he cares about, no matter what."
Her mom just smiled as she said, "You know, by the way you describe him, I wouldn't be surprised if he asked you to marry him in the near future."
"MOM!" Hermione shouted, while turning red.
"Well, its got to be true," she said, while pouring the water that was whistling from the pot into three cups that had a tea bag in each of them. "After the way you just described him and you just turning red when I said the thing about marriage, its obvious you love him a lot. Plus, you actually talked about him like he's your soulmate." She smiled after that as she handed her daughter a cup of tea.
"You know, Mom," said Hermione. "You're right. But I'm going to wait for him to make the move, to kind of make it more romantic."
"That's my girl," her mom said. Before they rejoined Hermione's dad in the living room, she added, "And you know what else? I think it would be lovely to see you in a wedding dress." Hermione just giggled as they joined Mr. Granger in with the tea, talking about what they were talking about in the kitchen.
(A\N: Okay, this isn't as long as my other stories, but I wanted to fill in two missing moments from my story "The Carefree Year," where Hermione had to disappear. I will be putting up one more, so keep an eye out for that and my sequel to my story. In the meantime, tell me what you think.)
