Forever and For Always
Disclaimer: I must've written a million of these things, I can't think of anythink funny anymore. Oh well, I don't own it, never will.
A/N: Happy slash and angsty slash. Fluff and PWP. I write it all. But for some reason, it the angst that I'm best at. Maybe its the emotion, I dunno but I love writing it. You know that you can express the emotion so much better by adding songs into them? It adds to the intensity. :D So here ya'll are, an angsty songfic for ya.
Tears ran down his face as he set the phone back in its cradle. He was gone and it was his fault. Of all the ways he coulda handled it, he'd taken the worst possible path.
Sunny days seem to hurt the most
I wear the like a heavy coat
I feel you everywhere I go.
I see your smile, I see your face
I hear you laughing in the rain
I just can't believe you're gone.
Memory after memory, moment after moment with him flashes through his mind. The two of them at the fair, laughing at one of Kid's stupid jokes, hugging after he won the WWF Title for the first time.
"Shawn." he whispered.
It ain't fair you died too young
Like a story that had just begun
But death tore the pages all away.
God knows how I miss you
All the hell that I been through
Just knowin no one can take your place.
Sometimes I wonder who you'd be today.
Holding Shawn as he was stitched up after Hell in a Cell with Taker, crying as they said goodbye to Kev and Scott, holding Shawn tightly as the doctor told them that Shawn'd never wrestle again, rocking him as he sobbed his heart out into Hunter's shoulder, visiting Shawn whenever he could, kissing the hell out of him when he returned to the ring.
Would you see the world
Who you chase your dreams
Settle Down with a family.
I wonder what would you name your babies.
Some days the sky's so blue
I feel I can talk to you
I know it might sound crazy
He and Shawn had seen the world together. Chased their dreams to become successful wrestlers. They'd wanted to settle down together. He watched the scenes playing through his head like a movie reel, tears flowing freely. He and Shawn asleep by the fire, Shawn visiting him in the hospital after he tore his quad.
It ain't fair you died too young
Like a story that had just begun
But death tore the pages all away.
God knows how I miss you
All the hell that I been through
Just knowin no one can take your place.
Sometimes I wonder who you'd be today.
Him catching Shawn with Bischoff, Shawn trying to explain that Bischoff would have fired them both if he hadn't, Hunter turning Shawn away.
Sunny Days seem to hurt the most.
I wear the pain like a heavy coat
The only thing that gives me hope
Is I know, I'll see you again someday
"I'm so sorry Shawn, I know you didn't want to hurt me. I'm sorry, please forgive me." he sobbed. "I love you."
And then there was the weirdest feeling, as if someone (or something) had his arms around him and a whisper. Like the wind.
"I know, I love you too." Hunter looked around, the room was empty. Then he smiled.
"Shawn..."
"I'm always here Hunt, always here." the whisper said.
"I miss you."
"I know. I'll see you again soon Hunt. I promise."
"I'll love you forever." Hunter whispered.
"Forever and for always." Shawn's voice replied. Hunter smiled and stood up. He went over to the chest of drawers in the room and pulled out a picture. He and Shawn stood on the left, Shawn in front of him with and his arms around the smaller blonde. To the right were Kevin and Scotty, Scott curled up in Kevin's lap like a puppy. Sean was crouched in the middle, alone. Poor Kid, he was always the loner type.
Hunter lay down in bed, the picture held tightly in his arms. And it seemed to him as he stared to fall asleep, that it was almost like holding Shawn in his arms again.
