Harry Potter, Ron Weasly and Hermione Granger all sat at the Gryffindor common room. The snow fell across the window pain, creating crystals that shimmered in the moonlight .In the distance a werewolf howled, it echoed through the corridors of Hogwarts making the stone walls shake. Hermione glanced outside with a worried expression on her face.

"Do you think he's ok? Professor Lupin, I mean."

Harry looked at her and raised an eyebrow.

"Hermione, he's done the transformation plenty of times. Since he was a kid, you know."

He opened a book, which was piled with homework from Snape. He flicked the pages of 'Veronica Slipnit's book of potions and magical medicines, series one' and stopped on the page that Snape had written in large numbers and letters at the top of his page. They had been even larger on Neville Longbottom's assignment; Snape knew that Neville was fond of forgetting what page the assignment was based on.

"You know Hermione, Madam Pomfrey has taken him to the shrieking shack. So he is safe, he'll be back in the morning "Ron had said, hoping that it would help Hermione stop worrying. Harry smiled at him thankfully, he collected his books and wand and stood up.

"Where are you going?" Ron asked, looking up at him.

"Im going to bed" He looked at the large grandfather clock in the corner of the common room. The hands ticked slowly round the dusty face.

"It's late and anyway we've got double Astronomy in two hours, so I better get some rest" He smiled then left, the large, wooden, oak door slamming shut behind him.

Hermione flicked through the book timidly.

"Well, I'd better go too" She said. Pilling her books, one on top another. Ron got up too.

"I'll walk you to your room...If you want." He asked her, pushing his books into the corner of the room with his foot.

They both smiled at each other, glee filling there insides, spreading like wildfire. Not knowing the terrors that would soon terrors that would haunt them for the rest of there lives.
