Hi everyone. So this is my one shot for tonight's episode "Coda." I honestly am really really upset right now. Anyone but Beth. Honetsly. This does contain spoilers so I suggest you do not read yet if you haven't watched the episode. I cried like a baby and got made fun of by my family. Hehe. Anyway, I want to just scream and yell at the writers for their decision and I don't want to talk anymore. I feel like they could have done so much with Beth, but to have her killed off is just lazy, in my opinion. Anyway, I hope you like it and please leave a review and tell me what you think. Thanks!

He doesn't know what to think. He doesn't know how to act, until he does and even then his actions couldn't dare make up for the things he's seen.

He sees blood on the floor and two dead bodies. One of the light in his life and the other who blew it out. Tears fill his eyes and he feels numb all over. Nothing mattered but getting her back. She was, but this wasn't how he wanted it.

He wanted to hear her sing one more time. He wanted to hear her laugh and see her beautiful smile. He wanted to finish their conversation the night she was taken from him.

Now, she lays in a pull of blood. The others are shocked and tears fall down Daryl's face slowly. Rick looks to Daryl and swallows down tears. Daryl slowly falls to his knees and lets out a small cry, so small that only he could hear it. He reaches and lifts the girl into his arms.

He looks down at her. She looked like she was sleeping, looking like nothing had even happened. Like she was just sleeping and having a peaceful dream. Her golden locks, one that he wanted to run his fingers through at times, were now stained in blood. Her eyes were closed and he realized he'd never see their magnificent blue shade again. He sees the scars, and then he realizes just how strong she was, and how much she'd changed. She was Beth Greene.

The members of the group make their way out of the hospital, Daryl carrying the sleeping girl in his arms. Tears fall down his face even more as he realizes that this was a reality, and a unfair and shitty one in his opinion. A lump in his throat forms and for a second, he thinks this isn't real. He thinks that what happened didn't happen. He thinks that they're walking out of this hospital hand and hand and not with him carrying her limp body out into the city he faught against to get here.

He sees Maggie. Old words form like a scar of him yelling at Beth about how she was never going to see Maggie again. He sees Maggie sobbing and Glenn behind her. He sees the others walking and he stops in his tracks.

His light, his girl, his hope was gone. His Beth was gone. He glances one more time at the girl, this time a tear falling onto her cheek, and he can't stop more tears from falling.

An old memory surfaces.

"I'm glad I didn't say goodbye." Beth's voice says in his mind. "I hate goodbyes."

He could feel her hugging him even if she didn't move in his strong arms.

This time, Daryl feels himself speak. "Me too."
