This is just a short piece that popped into my mind last night, after cooking a big dinner for 7 people... It is inspired by an episode of SNL that H.Laurie hosted sometime in 2006.
„Garrage MD"
„Hey Wilson, come in here, you've got to watch this!" House bellowed, sitting on the sofa.
Wilson appeared in the kitchen-doorway. He was, as usual, preparing dinner.
„This Laurie-guy thinks he's incredibly smart and funny." House commented about the Saturday Night Live programm that had just started. „He should get a show or something so I can watch it and make fun of him."
„Err... the guy already has a show..." Wilson offered from the doorway.
„Really, why didn't anyone tell me?" House huffed.
„Well, I only just heard about it from Foreman today. Apparently he's playing some genius doctor who has a drug and a sociability problem. Foreman says he gets all his brillant ideas on how to deal with you from it."
„You don't say. And you didn't tell me right away? That's just mean. You know I love stupid doctor-shows."
„I'm sorry, but I didn't tell you, because apparently FOX has a problem with the airing. They only show an episode every three weeks or so, and I know you hate waiting for ends."
„How thoughtful of you!" House chided. „But I gotta see this anyway. Were's it set? Some remote british Country-hospital?"
„No, actually it's set in the US, from what I've heard." Wilson hoped very much that House couldn't see him blushing. Of course he knew the show played in the US. He had been a huge fan of it from the first episode.
Well... actually he had started the whole damn thing, originally. One night he had been out with his buddy David, and he'd had too many beers and told him about his life at PPTH. David, being the clever guy that he was, had turned it into a hugely successful show.
„But that Laurie-guy's definetly british." House piped up, staring with big blue eyes at the screen. „Why would a smart and funny British guy want to play in an american tv-show? He'd have to constantly take care of his accent or noone would understand him."
He stared disbelievingly at the tv, apparently trying to figure out if there was something mentally wrong with Hugh Laurie.
Half an hour later they were watching „Garrage MD" on the DVD, Wilson had finally admitted to have.
„This is absolutely fantastic!" House grinned in a distinctly British accent. „I should get an award or something..."
The End
