Kestrels life in the breeding program
Intro
In book 1 (the dragonet prophecy) we find out that kestrel was in a breeding program and this is my interpretation of what it was like for her In the breeding program.
All information was gathered from the first book in the 10 part series of wings of fire.
This is clean so any young kids can read this (There is the word mate and mating but is not rude and no dirty language).
Chapter 1
"I can't wait to go to the breeding program" kestrel said happily.
"Are you sure about this?" kestrel's mum asked with a wobbly voice.
"Are you kidding?! I really want to do this mum a have been waiting my whole life for this moment!" Kestrel said surprised.
"Ok, if you really want to do it then do it" kestrel's mum replied.
Chapter 2
"Pssssp kestrel" kestrel's friend whispered.
"What?" Kestrel whispered back.
"Who do you think your partner will be?" Kestrel's friend replied.
"I don't know we will just wait and see" kestrel whispered back.
The speaker was up on the stage getting ready to tell the female dragons in the breeding program there male partners.
The speaker started off saying "you all have been specifically chosen for this program and today you shall get to meet the partners specifically chosen for you"
The speaker started speaking the first few names out and about five minutes into it kestrel's name was spoken and here is what the speaker said "kestrel's partner is... Sam"
"Who's he?" Kestrel whispered to her friend.
But before her friend was able to answer kestrel was dragged away by guards into a small room with another dragon in there... Which was same her male partner Sam she knew exactly what was happening kestrel pushed her snout against sam's snout (a dragon version of a kiss) the guards shut the door leaving them to mate in privacy.
Chapter 3
It was a few days before the guards let them out of the little room but that time was for them to bond and form a partnership together.
"Um ...Exe-cuse me Sam can I go see my friend and have a five minute talk with her?" kestrel asked shyly.
"Go ahead honey I have some of my friends to talk to as well" Sam replied as he brushed his wing with kestrel's wing.
"Thanks Sam" kestrel replied.
"Anytime" Sam replied.
"Hi via" kestrel said.
"Oh hi kestrel" via replied back.
"Is this your friend?" Via's partner asked.
"Yes it is I only need 5 minutes" via replied.
"Just 5 minutes" via's partner snapped.
"Ok" via replied with a slightly scared tone.
"Well Kestrel how is your partner Sam?" via asked.
"He is actually really sweet and is really calm and just goes with the flow and understands what I say" kestrel replied.
"So my partner tornado... Well the name is literally him he was so rough and just wants things to be at awkward times" via replied.
"So what was tornado like when you were mating?" Kestrel asked.
"I'll tell it to you like a story in 1st person" via replied.
"Ok" kestrel replied.
Chapter 4
I had just been thrown in a small room and I had flew and smacked into a wall it took a moment for my eyes to un-blur from the impact I saw a another dragon my male partner tornado.
"H-h-h-I?" I stammered from my sore head.
"Hi and whatever, but just come here" tornado hissed.
"Fine" I said un-willingly.
I slithered over slowly, tornado was eying me closely.
"Hurry up we have business to do" tornado flickered.
"Oh fine I will Spe" but before I could finish what I was saying I was pinned to a wall by tornados talons.
"This is what I mean by business" tornado hissed.
"I hardly know y" but I was cut off again by tornado saying " just listen to me and keep that mouth closed of yours" he growled "the whole point of this programme was to have eggs so stay still and let me and you mate.
"We need to get to know each other first!!"I yelled at tornado.
But that did nothing he pressed his snout against mine and we did our business.
Chapter 5
"Man he's pretty intensive!" Kestrel said surprised.
"I know right, and my dragonets are going to be provided by him!" Via said un-enthusiastically.
"I know right, it had to be him, and by the way he's coming towards us so I think he wants you" kestrel said.
"Ok, bye kestrel" via whispered.
"Bye via" kestrel whispered back.
Kestrel started looking for Sam she picked up his scent and managed to find him.
"There you are Sam!" kestrel said happily.
"Oh hi, friends meet my partner, kestrel" Sam replied.
"So this was who you were talking about Sam" said one of sam's friends.
"Shut up" Sam hissed to his friend.
"What were you saying about me Sam" kestrel asked.
"Nothing" Sam replied.
"Liar, you had a crush on her when you went to the place you learned stuff" Sam's friend blurted out.
"You had a crush on me?!" Kestrel said surprised.
"Well yeah" Sam sighed.
"Sam follow me" kestrel hissed at Sam.
"Ok" Sam said shyly.
Sam and kestrel walked to a place where nobody could hear them.
"You were at that learning program?" Kestrel whispered to Sam.
"Well yeah" Sam whispered back.
"We're you that dragon that put the note saying 'will you go out with me'?" Kestrel asked whispering.
"Wait how did that get in your bag I was going to put it in there but I didn't, one of my friends must of put that note in your bag" Sam whispered back.
"I thought someone was playing a prank on me say I just turned it into ashes" kestrel replied.
"What are you talking about?" A guard growled at them.
"Nothing" Sam said.
The guard stomped away.
Kestrel grabbed Sam and pressed her snout with his.
"This is what I have been missing out on" Sam thought.
Chapter 6
"Look Sam, the egg is hatching!" Kestrel yelled in excitement.
"Really?!" Sam said surprised.
"Yep!" Kestrel replied.
"Ummm, kestrel... There twins!" Sam said surprised.
"Lucky us" kestrel said happily.
"Look one had come out is a girl" kestrel said.
Kestrel was just about to touch the girl dragonet but felt a fiery heat rising from the dragonet's scales.
"Sam don't touch her because her scales are burning hot" kestrel warned Sam.
"Oh no" kestrel said worryingly.
"What's oh no for? It's probably just a hatching thing" kestrel said.
"Um the fiery heat is not a hatching thing the girl dragonet has sucked all the fire out of her other twin which makes her untouchable and for the other twin will be very weak" Sam said sadly.
Just as he said that queen scarlet came in looking at the other couples dragonets she came to Sam and kestrel, queen scarlet could feel the fiery blaze coming form the girl dragonet and knew exactly what had happened.
"Oh wow, such a rare appearance these days for a dragonet to suck all the fire out of its other twin how sad" queen scarlet said chuckling.
"Hey it's not our fault and the other twin is still alive and we can keep it alive!" Kestrel hissed at queen scarlet.
"Oh did you not like me saying that but you know what we do to these couples" queen scarlet replied arrogantly.
"No, but don't but what happens?" Kestrel asked hissing.
"Well we order the couple to kill one twin and spare the other twin's life" queen scarlet replied.
" what?!" Sam yelled pouncing at queen scarlet.
"Sam no!" Kestrel yelled but queen scarlet had already grabbed Sam by neck.
"Let go of me!" Sam yelled.
" I can't be stuffing around with dragons like this, Sam just live a happy life in heaven" queen scarlet said chuckling as she snapped sam's neck.
"Sam!" Kestrel screamed in horror as queen scarlet dropped Sam onto the ground.
Via came running to kestrel and saw what had happened.
Queen scarlet had already walked out of the gates.
Kestrel was crying her heart out.
"Kestrel I'm sorry" via said attempting to cheer kestrel up.
" you have nothing to be sorry for just go away!" Kestrel screamed crying.
Kestrel had chosen to kill the weak twin and spare the dragon with to much fire.
Chapter 7
Kestrel had decided to name the remaining dragonet with to much fire peril, she had a protective bag to carry peril in to stop her from burning kestrel.
Kestrel was very unhappy and mad at queen scarlet, but still cared for her dragonet but out of nowhere queen scarlet bumped into kestrel.
"What do you want?" Kestrel hissed at queen scarlet
"I heard you named your dragonet peril, but now I order you to kill her" queen scarlet said agonisingly.
"NO!!" She shrieked taking peril out of the bag and attempted to fly away with peril but her talons and feet were scorched by peril and kestrel dropped peril onto the grass hoping that queen scarlet would spare perils life.
"My whole life's purpose just dumped away peril will just die because of me" kestrel thought flying off into the distance.
Epilogue
queen scarlet spares perils life making peril become her new champion for the arena but lies to peril about what happened.
This is the lie she tells "your mother was going to drop you and your brother of a mountain because you had sucked the fire out of your twin and we killed your mother for her crimes.
Via and tornado lived and raised there dragonets together but soon after that via left tornado.
Kestrel now works for the talons of peace helping to for fill the prophecy of the five dragonets to stop the war.
