Title: Memory & Darkness

Author: graveyardgirl15

Pairing: 5927 (vaguely there)

Author's Notes: What's the difference between a ficlet and a drabble again? This was written when I was supposed to be reviewing for exams. Hurrah for slackers! No, seriously, don't imitate me. I'm bad.

Disclaimer: No, not mine. If it were mine then Reborn would be under the genre Shounen-ai and not just Shounen. So, not mine. Don't sue. No money.

"Look out!"

He ran across the street and hurriedly pushed the young man to the sidewalk. Having no control of the sudden force on him, the young man stumbled and hit his head on the pavement. As the young man's supposed-to-be savior stared at red liquid starting to ooze down the pedestrian lane, he didn't really notice his rib crack nor his head hitting the front of a silver Akino, nor the gasps and screams of passers-by. All he knew was he deserved this.

For hurting Tsuna when he was supposed to keep him from getting hurt.

Yes. Gokudera Hayato deserved to die.

Voices.

He was hearing voices.

Wasn't he supposed to be dead already?

"Look! Look! He's waking up! I saw his little finger move!"

"Shh..Not so loud Lambo-kun."

"You might startle him."

And the voices were too loud for his liking. He was trying to remember what exactly had happened and why did he end up here and not somewhere in a soft bed in heaven but the voices..the voices were keeping him from being able to think straight. He tried to open his eyes and winced when he felt his eyelids brush against a soft material which was apparently wrapped around his eyes, keeping him from seeing the owners of the voices who were causing a minor headache to build up somewhere behind his head. He inwardly sighed and stretched out an arm, causing the people around him to fall silent. A few seconds later, he felt a small hand take his outstretched arm. He was guessing it was either Haru or..or.. who was the other girl again?

Panic gripped at his chest when he realized he couldn't remember who the other girl was in their circle of friends. Was she Kao..Kei..Miko..? Reiko..? He felt his breathe catch in his throat.

The hand that was holding his own squeezed gently before he felt another one enclose his hands with warmth, soothing his distressed nerves. The feeling, surprisingly, brought calmness to him although he couldn't see who the owner of the hand was. Even the name of the girl wasn't that important anymore...

"I'm sorry.. I'm so sorry.."

He felt the material covering his eyes slowly loosen as someone from behind started to remove the bandages.

The voice..

He couldn't remember who the owner of the voice was. And when he opened his eyes, blackness greeted him.

The last thing he remembered before losing consciousness was breaking..

breaking..

and more breaking.

...

...

He was breaking apart.
