The concert, Atticus Fetch asking the audience if anyone wants to get married.
Hank is looking at Karen, he takes a deep breath and then walks to Atticus taking the microphone. Karen looks surprised and ashamed, afraid of what might follow now. Hank turns to the audience and says:
"I am Hank Moody and I am sorry to waste your time, but I'd like to ask you to be my witness tonight. For those of you familiar with my work, this should be obvious. Every word I ever wrote is either for or about this woman. Karen my muse and love of my life, come here please."
Karen rolls her eyes, hesitates, but eventually walks over to hank. When there she whispers at him angrily:
"What are you doing?!"
Hank continues, turned away from the audience, looking in her eyes. Nearby a rowdy tries to get him off the stage but Atticus stops him. He then goes to the piano and starts playing a lovely melody.
Hank:
"Karen, I know I've said this a thousand times, but I love you and I'll never stop to do so. I've also realised that I have to make a decision. I can't spend the rest of my life trying to get you back, If you don't even want me to succeed someday. That doesn't help anyone. We both know that I am everything but flawless but my love to you is. I can't promise you that I will change from now to then, but I can promise you, that I will stay with you forever or at least as long as you want me to. So I'll ask you here and now, do you want me, or do you want me to let go? I know you always talk about my potential and how this is not enough, but the truth is without you I had no potential at all. So what is it, no matter what I won't be hurt."
Moments pass, both look each other in the eyes. Atticus stops playing. There are calls in the audience fading into silence. She starts to cry. The silence gets sultry. She hugs him and whispers to his ear:
"I love you too, but I am not in love with you anymore and that's not enough to try again, I am sorry but I just can't do it"
She kisses him on the lips quickly and runs off stage. Hank remains silent for a while. Then he clears his throat and says:
"Guess I'll have to tour with this motherfucker than" and gives the microphone back to Atticus who continues with the Concert shortly after Hank went off stage.
Atticus playing guitar on the tour bus, Hank and Faith on the sofa together, cuddling. She holds his hand, caresses him.
Faith: "You lied earlier, didn't you?"
Hank: "What do you mean?"
Faith: "You said you wont be hurt, but you clearly are, I can see it"
Hank: "Of course I am, its just, there always was this glint of hope, you know."
Faith: "There always is"
Hank: "I guess so"
He smiles. She kisses him. Atticus sings along emotionally. The Bus is viewed driving off through the night.
