The battle was almost over. Batman had crossed the streets of Gotham City, where he defeated Killer Moth using his Triple Bat-shot. He had battled throughout the hallucinogen factory, destroying its Machine Intelligence System by the power of his Bat-missiles and fists. In the Gotham sewers, Batman killed The Electrocutioner using his Batarang. In his raid of the Joker's secret lab, he fought the Dual Containment Alarms, punching them into exploding junk. Finally, He climbed the intensely guarded cathedral and destroyed Firebug using his Batarang.
As Batman approached him on the moonlit balcony, the Joker laughed. It was done, Bruce had to kill three people to get at him. He spoke between laughs, his sharp incisives showing under the deformed lips. "Greetings, Bat-Brain - are you ready to meet your destiny?" He said defiantly, reaching on his belt for his overly long barreled revolver. All was planned, and either way there would be victory for the cause of madness.
Another fight was needed to finish corrupting Bruce, so Joker used his revolver, known as the Hypersonic Blast Gun, and shot him multiple times, also using his psionic powers to call down the thunder on his foe. Bruce deftly jumped and dodged the blasts, sometimes walljumping, as he approached His enemy, whom He punched again and again. No Bat-Gadgets were needed, His martial fury sufficing. Finally, the Joker fell to the floor, panting as the pain was enough to make him unable to hold his weapon.
Batman spoke, holding Joker up by the collar:"I know you murdered my parents." He said, a feral grin filling his moonlit face. "Now you will dance with the Devil in the pale moonlight!". With this said, He hurled down the Joker from the cathedral's open balcony.
As he lay dying on the city's curb, his body broken from both the fight and the fall, the Joker smiled. It was done. The party was started in Bruce. Now he too was a Insane Criminal. All was worth it for Joker, for now his nemesis was unknowingly corrupted, and the whole city was doomed to Darkness. The Joke was on them.
