The 1st Interview: Starscream
Izzy: Hello, and welcome to the first installment of Inside the Character Studio. You are all familiar with our sister show Inside the Actors Studio with James Lipton. Well on this show, we interview the real characters behind the character, if you will. Moving on, for our very first show, we have a special guest. From a planet called, uh…Cybertron, is it? Yes. Well, anyway, please welcome Starscream.
Starscream: Thankyou, Izzy.
Izzy: Good to have you. Now it says here you're a…Deception?
Starscream: Decepticon, you pathetic fool!
Izzy: Yes, well, excuse me. Anyway, what does that entail?
Starscream: It entails me leading the way to rule Cybertron and destroy the mudball called Earth!
Izzy: Lead? Well, you see, it says here that a fellow named Megatron is the leader of the deceptions.
Starscream: Decepticons! And I'm the leader! We do NOT need Megatron. He's a fool! Always will be, always has been. You know he docked my pay for letting a sycophantic spy escape?! I should disintegrate you just for mentioning him.
Izzy: Yes, well, once again, my apologies. Now, I myself am very fond of the mudball you refer to as Earth. It is my home, in fact. Why would you want to destroy it?
Starscream: Because after we steal all of its energon, it serves no purpose!
Izzy: Energon?
Starscream: You pathetic fool. Energon is what makes Cybertron go 'round. We must harvest it all to destroy the autobots.
Izzy: Autobots? You know, I've heard good things about them.
Starscream: Fool! The Autobots must die! You don't understand. Are you one of them?
Izzy: No, no. I'm just an interviewer. Please, calm down.
Starscream: No one tells Starscream to calm down! I will destroy you. (Lasers charge)
Izzy: There's no need for that, really. Just…uh, relax.
Starscream: Die, flesh creature!
(Laserblasts…screaming…eerie silence.)
