Not mine. This little one shot popped in my head as I was talking on Facebook to MyMerryMen. It started as a joke but turned into this. Thank you MyMerryMen for the push.

The Stalker

Like now, the only sounds in the house is the quiet ticking of the Snap-On Tool clock on the wall above the fireplace. The television was off along with the radio, she even had the dogs outside. Just her, the clock and now the soft clicks of her nails on a keyboard.

She was totally unaware of her surroundings while she was replying to her friend on Facebook. Totally unaware of the man in black watching her through her living room window poised to make his move when the time was perfect.

The sun had just set leaving brilliant colors of purple and pink streaks across the darkening sky, and still he continued to watch her.

As she continued to talk to her friend, the man moved from the window back into the darkness slowly making his way around her home to the back door. His military background made him capable of moving without being heard.

Once in the house, he toed off his black boots and slipped behind the woman wrapping his arms around her in a choke hold. Fighting back she used the training she had received in martial arts and effectively took the big man to the floor.

As he laid on the floor trying to regain his breath, a huge smile broke across his face, knowing that the martial arts training had paid off and she would be able to defend herself against an intruder.

"Hal, I wasn't expecting you until ten tonight."

Still trying to regain his composure he managed to choke out, "Hey honey, I am home. You passed your test."

A wicked smile broke out on his wife, Tessa's face, she had somehow managed to get his handcuffs, "Will you pass mine?"
