Chapter 1: Behind the Curtain

Giggles and multiple conversations filled the compacted party room. Parents sat at the tables and talked about the birthday girl, and how much she's grown, while the little kids played with the animatronic animals, and sat their silly songs. However, one question had remained, where was the birthday girl? Well, she has had enough of the crazy fun, and snuck back stage with her toy cat. Giggling and playing with the hand sewn feline. She smiled and heard some little kids calling her name. She stayed silent and laid down.

"They can still have fun without me, right, Cathy?" She said in a sleepy state. She yawned once more and rested her eyes for a while.

When she awoke, she couldn't hear the people anymore, but the lights were still on. Did Claire sleep through her whole party? She huffed a little, and crossed her arms. She thought they would at least wake her up for the cake. She sighed and stood up. Grabbing her orange cat toy off the ground, she held it close to her chest and looked around.

"Mommy? Daddy? I-I took a nap in a room, and I can't find anyone. . . "

No response. She sighed and looked around. The animatronics weren't even around to get her a little company. She sat down and sighed once more.

"Cathy? Where did everyone go? I'm all alone and I don't like it."

She leaned on a wall, and scanned the empty area once more. Suddenly she heard someone whistling, and looked towards the sound. She gasped as she saw a little light green rabbit, with a few stitches and zippers on its body, and carrying what looked like a watch. She couldn't believe her eyes. It looked so familiar, but she couldn't put her finger on it.

The green rabbit stopped in his tracks, and looked at his watch. He went pale, and his eyes widened. He hopped up on his feet and darted in the direction he was just walking.

"Oh my dear end whiskers! I'm late, I'm late!" He yelled as he continued hurriedly hopping.

"What could a rabbit be late for?" Claire asked herself. She smiled and gasped. "It must be super important. Maybe it's a party or something! Maybe he can help me."

She stood up and ran after the rabbit. "Please. Sir! I need some help!"

"I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date! No time to say "hello." Goodbye! I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!" He said in a semi song voice.

Claire tried hard to keep up, but the rabbit was way too fast for her. He ran passed a curtain, colored with the same of a rainbow. After a good five minutes after he walked through it, Claire, ran through and fell downwards, dropping her toy cat as she did so. She gasped, and waved goodbye to the plush at the top of the abyss. As she fell, her little dress skirt caught her. She fell and fell, and fell for what seemed like forever. She saw different little pieces of furniture, and mirrors and paintings. She caught a book on a table and read it, but it had weird language written down on it. But it had some nice picture to look at. A girl chasing a white rabbit down a rabbit hole. Before she could read anymore, she fell on a pillow and looked around.

It looked like a distorted painting. Doors on the walls, roof and floor. She saw the green rabbit run by again, and pulled out a key. He unlocked one door with a silhouette of a bear and a heart behind it. The green rabbit opened the door, and bolted through, slamming it behind him.
