SEASON 2 EP 5 SPOILERS
A/N: It's been a long a while. Sorry for the inactivity, but last night I watched S2E5 of Riverdale and I'm one of those people who gets upset about their ship breaking up, so to calm the raging fangirl inside me, I wrote this. I don't address every loose end there is, but allow me my Bughead catharsis!
"Like Romeo and Juliet but we get to live happily ever after instead." Betty tried to smile through watery eyes but she couldn't bring herself to be happy. Living behind fake smiles had been her forte for years, but now the only thing consuming her mind was The Black Hood.
"What if we did?" Jughead interrupted Betty's train of thought with his own,
"What?" Betty furrowed her brow and leaned in closer so no one would hear in case they were being watched. "Are you being serious right now?"
"I am. Just pick up and leave. Leave Riverdale, leave The Black Hood, leave all this lunacy behind." Jughead never broke his gaze of Betty, he was being serious.
"Juggie, we can't just leave. What about school and my parents, Archie, Veronica!"
"Hey. With everything going on, don't you wanna get out?"
"You're asking me to choose between you and them, Jug, this isn't fair."
"Screw choosing. I'm tired of being told to choose a side, Betty. If I could have what I want, there would be no Southside. There would be no Northside. There would just be me and you. So what do you want?" The two were now so close that everything around them seemed to still. Polly had left, but The Black Hood had found her too.
"We need to get Polly out first." This comment came out of what seemed like nowhere, but Jughead didn't question it. "If we leave, we make sure Polly is safe too... Can we really do this, Jug?" The reality of their Shakespearean-esc runaway was hitting Betty now.
"Meet me at my dad's trailer in an hour, we're getting out of here." Jughead started to stand but Betty stopped him by the hand, and pulled him back down. She pressed a kiss to his lips then spoke,
"I'll see you in an hour." This time her smile was genuine.

Jughead was startled when there was a knock at the door of FP's trailer. He opened it to find Betty standing with a suitcase in one hand, and a helmet in the other. Jughead pulled a suitcase of his own out from behind him,
"My mom set up some account for me instead of allowance when I was little, she always said I'd be grateful when I was older, I guess she was right. Are you ready?" Jughead asked,
"I'm ready."

It didn't take long to convince Polly to leave her farm, with the money she had left, she was able to buy a cheap plane ticket to live with their grandparents they hardly ever saw. With this end tied up, Betty could finally be free with Jughead next to her. They rode on open road for what seemed like hours, neither Jughead nor Betty minded the whip of the wind, it was a completely new sensation that they couldn't have felt before in Riverdale. Though neither of them had any clue about what they were doing, they would figure it out together.
