Laughter

They were all different but they were one.

When the whisker-faced boy laughed (and it was often), he laughed wholeheartedly. He would often spit his ramen out or laugh so much soda came spewing out of his nostrils (this was usually when Sasuke unintentionally made a joke- which was usually not even that funny). During his earlier years, he'd been lonely and never experienced true laughter and joy- now that he had it, he was going to use every opportunity to experience it- even if it meant laughing at the wrong times. Naruto's laugh was often called obnoxious and loud, the added bonus to this was his hair that carelessly flopped back and forth making him look like a complete moron. But he didn't care- after all, laughter was meant to be shared.

Since he was a young boy, he had been told not to show any emotions. Emotions made you weak. Emotions were useless. Emotions were obstacles. And Uchihas did not let obstacles win; ever. When he first came to Team 7, he had been devoid of any feelings apart from anger and a thirst for revenge. He'd only felt sorrow once before- the day his clan had been murdered- and he would only feel happiness once again- the day he murdered his older brother. But then he'd met Naruto, Sakura, and Kakashi. He'd initially been annoyed by them but had grown fond of them over the years. When he returned to village after the war, they'd taught him how to live. He would not lose his last chance. Still, Sasuke rarely ever laughed- it was out of habit, he supposed. But if you were careful enough to notice the signs, you could often see the Uchiha's mouth turning up at its corners.

Sakura hated her smile. She hated how it made her cheeks turn red and it always seemed like she was wheezing. Whenever she looked at herself in pictures, she wanted to vomit. Because, it was always there. That stupid smile of hers ruined everyone's pictures. So, she'd eventually stopped smiling in pictures. Sure, she couldn't help the occasional peals of laughter that she had but it was okay as long as no one took a picture. As shallow as it seemed, Sakura hated being in pictures because of her smile. When Naruto had asked her why she didn't smile in pictures anymore, she'd told him the reason and swore that she'd kill him if he told anyone else her secret. The very afternoon, Sasuke had confronted her and said, "Your stupid smile looks good, stupid." Naruto was so dead. More importantly, Sakura was always seen smiling in pictures after that.

They were all different but they were one.

And they would always be.
