A poem about Foxface, references to the fable the fox and the grapes. Hunger Games are the property of Suzanne Collins.
Resisting the temptation to attack is easy
Resisting the temptation to steal more is a challenge
Every time I steal I am temped, utterly tempted
To take even more
To make myself known
To leave them a message
"Hey Cato, think you're so smart? lookie here! looks like you've lost your life line!"
But I don't
I won't
But she will
Grabbing the grapes that tempted me
I'm happy
But I wish I could have taken the grapes myself
I shouldn't have lost to her
No one should ever outwit me
And yet I've already been outwitted by that girl
Katniss
So I want to out wit her now
Show her she's not clever like me
Steal from her
So I do
He's right there
But I steal the grapes easily
Triumphant
I bit into a grape
At first I smile
but then I know
They were sour grapes after all
The boy's stupidity has out witted me
The one who is cleverer than anyone
I shouldn't have reached for the grapes
they were sour after all
I think
As I
The cleverest person
Is truly defeated
As life fades
From the fox
That's it, hope you enjoyed it! please review!
