It was hard for Peter to accept at first.
He wanted to kill the traitorous impostor in Olivia's skin, to make her pay dearly for fooling him and for putting this universe's Olivia at risk.
His Olivia.
All of his anger dissipated when he saw Olivia lying in the hospital bed. She was bruised and battered, but she was home.
When she slowly opened her eyes to look up at him, Peter's breath caught in his throat.
For an instant, he thought of the other Olivia's cold green eyes that flashed with malice and deception.
However, his trepidation melted when he saw the softness in his Olivia's eyes as she met his gaze with a look of tenderness and a slight hint of vulnerability.
"Hey," she whispered hoarsely, and her lips curved upwards with her frail attempt at a smile.
"Hey," he returned, still at a loss for words. He crossed the short distance between them and bent to kiss her forehead as she closed her eyes and fell into a much-needed sleep.
It would be difficult for him to learn to forget the face of the woman who had deceived him, primarily because she looked exactly like the woman he loved.
However, if today was any indication, his Olivia would quickly make him forget the stranger from the other universe.
Peter made a note to himself to tell Olivia how much she meant to him when she woke up.
He would start by telling her how beautiful her eyes were.
Frankly, he didn't care how cheesy it sounded. He just wanted Olivia to know.
End.
