Authors Note: This is a very short narrative about Lucas and El's friendship. I hope you enjoy it. Please let me know what you think about it in the reviews. Thanks!

It had been a few weeks since Will had retuned from the upside down. Although the boys were grateful that their friend was back, It was difficult to cope with the loss of Eleven. Especially for Lucas...Lucas had seen how brave El was when she saved them from the Demogorgon. After all the mean things he had said to her, she had still risked her life for him and his friends. He wished that he could truly apologize for everything, but she was gone, she was dead.

He had to somehow ease the guilt of it all. So he wrote a letter... That he thought El would never see.

...

Dear Eleven (El),

Weirdo, freak...these are things I had called you and others have called me. Troy and these bullies or who you would call as mouth breathers, would call me these exact names. These word and many other words stung in my heart, in my mind.

When I first met you, I started calling you those names. It made me feel powerful, safe even. I can't believe that I failed to realize how much these words hurt. After all of these years of being bullied and people saying the same things to me, it never occurred to me that I was doing the same to you. I just finally realized the extremities of my bullying. And For this I am truthfully sorry.

A few days ago I heard about how you saved Mike, after he had jumped off that cliff. And I of course know about how you had saved me and my friends from the Demogorgon. After all those things I had said to you, you still saved us, you saved me. That is true friendship and loyalty. Loyalty...is something I'll never be good at and I will hopefully never hurt anyone else because my lack of it.

Friends don't lie, I am very, very sorry. You were a great friend even when I wasn't a great friend to you. I know that I apologized to you before this, but that will never be enough. Please forgive me, El.

Your Friend, Lucas

...

Tears came to her eyes, and stained the letter as she read it softly to herself. It was almost ten years after the previous letter was written...El had came back, much to her friends surprise. But Lucas was leaving Hawkins for good, for much bigger things. On the night before he left, El sat with her friends in Lucas' room. He had handed her that letter, telling her that he had written it along time ago, when he thought she was dead. He told her how he still meant to say all of these things, but never had the chance to.

As El finished reading the letter she lifted her head to look up at Lucas, tears in her eyes. "Over these past years you have been a very loyal and kind friend. Thank you so much for that, I'll miss you...I forgive you." El smiled, embracing Lucas in a hug.
