"Idiot!"

"Stupid!"

"Wench!"

"Dog boy!"

"Bitch!"

"SIT!"

Inuyasha crouched in the corner of the room, away from everyone else, glaring at everything in sight, grumbling swear words that no one else could hear…. Yet the reason for his anger and disgruntled-ness…. Had slipped his mind.

All he really knew wast that he had been sulking and grouching for a couple of days now… and that it had something to do with Kagome… most times it was Kagome that agitated him so much - damn girl.

He sent an angry look at her, only to see her fast asleep. Frowning, he turned away from his companions, and glanced outside.

Behind him, he could hear his so calle 'friends', talking about him behind his back - literately.

"Inuyasha is sure in a bad mood." Sango commented softly, whether not to wake Kagome or not to let him hear, it was unclear.

He had a sneaking suspicion that it was the former, because his friends had no qualms confronting him about his attitude, insulting him, or complaining about him, to his face.

Miroku's calm voice broke the short silence.

"It must be because of his and Lady Kagome's fight."

So he had been right… his bad mood was due to Kagome.

"Is he still mad about that?" Shippo's voice questioned, "All Kagome did was ask to go home! Stupid Inuyasha…"

Inuyasha resisted the urge to hit the young fox demon, and instead, got to his feet, and walked outside.

He remembered the fight now.

Kagome had politely asked for a week or so to go home, and he had immediately refused.

Such a long time a few weeks…

Naraku would probably put the whole damn jewel together before the end of that time.

He scuffed his feet on the ground, angry.

"Keh, as if she can just run of and leae us to our own devices." Inuyasha growled to himself, "I'll drag her back, regardless of what she says or does."

Not only did they need her to defeat demons, and purify jewel shards, but… Inuyasha didn't think he would be able to stand such a long span of time without her…

"Keh, damn, selfish woman." He muttered, punching the trunk of a nearby cherry tree.

Petals showered down on him, and he stood unmoving, seething with rage, until her laugh caused him to turn.

Her hand was pressed to her mouth, and she was struggling not to giggle, as she stepped forward.

"I'm sorry Inuyasha." She murmured, brushing the petals off his shoulder, and untangling them from his long hair, "But I HAVE to go home! I promise - I'll be back by the end of the week."

His mouth straightened into a line, and her eyes softened, as she quirked a smile, "You know I'll miss you too."

He blushed and looked away.

"Feh. Why would I miss you, wench?"

If she had been in a particularly foul mood, or she was like how she had been at the beginning of their journey, she would've sat him to death… but instead, she smiled, and shrugged.

"I don't know."

He stared at her for a moment, wanting and needing her to stay.. But if he wanted her to be happy, he would let her go.

"I have to go about now… would you take me to the well, inuyasha?"

He nodded silently.

They stood by the well, Kagome staring into his eyes, Inuyasha frantically wondering what she was thinking.

'Damn woman' He thought again, yet, he couldn't take his eyes off her.

"I'll be back in a week." She promised, "Seven days."

He nodded and mentally engraved into his mind.

Then she surprised him completely.

"You… umm, can stop by sometime if you like, Inuyasha…"

Then she swiftly kissed him on the cheek and disappeared down the well.

A wry smile lit up his face.

Why had he been angry in the first place?

Damn, wonderful, woman….
