One Little Kiss

There were many words to describe Envy, the oldest of the homunculi. Ed was fairly certain that 'rational' wasn't one of them.

There was a hole in the wall of their bathroom. Solid, bluish tile had shattered when Envy had decided to take it upon himself to redecorate. Blood oozed from his wounded hand, but it was clear that he felt no pain. The shape-shifter's eyes were black as he clenched the hand into a fist and squeezed for all that he was worth. It was all he could do to not blow the whole damn house down.

Ed stood in the doorway, the expression on his face a unique mixture of horror and disbelief. Granted, it was his fault. Okay, usually it was his fault. But this time, the blame was not entirely his own. Greed and Envy were two sins that should never cross paths, let alone with opposing agendas. Greed could not stand the fact that the Fullmetal chibi had chosen Envy, and Envy, like his name, tended to be the jealous kind.

"Envy -," but Envy wasn't listening. Instead, he whirled around and hurled his fist through the mirror. Shards of glass rained down on his hand. "Envy, stop it! Would you fucking listen to me for once?"

Envy glared at him out of the corner of his eye. Green flares shot down his arm and mutated the limb into a sleek weapon. "I don't remember anyone talking to you, pipsqueak."

"Who are you calling so small it would take a magnifying glass to see them?" Ed screamed. Envy raised an eyebrow, now the calmer despite Ed's little outburst. Ed flushed red and looked away.

"I'm going to kill him. I'm gonna kill the motherfucking bastard and then bring him back to life, just so I can kill his undead ass a second time." Envy swore. "The nerve of that slimy bastard, to put his hands on you…"

Ed's eyes lit up at that, an idea occurring to him. "Are you… jealous of Greed?" Envy had been jealous before, but never to the point where he would resort to lethal force.

This time, it was Envy's turn to blush. "Where did this come from?" Ed started to come closer to him. "What the fuck are you doing?"

Ed met his eyes, having to stand on his tip-toes to reach the taller man's mouth. "You're cute when you're jealous."

And then, closing that last bit of distance between them, he kissed him. It was short and sweet, lacking all of the brutality that had been present in his earlier kiss with Greed. Greed had done his best to dominate him, backing him into a corner with no chance of escape. Envy, on the other hand, merely set his hands in the grooves of Ed's waist and tenderly held him in place.

The kiss was short, chaste, and undeniably what both men needed. When Ed drew back, Envy tangled his fingers in the shorter man's hair and yanked him back. Their chests bumped, bodies brushing up against one another as the kiss became more heated. Envy backed Ed up until his back hit the counter, and then he lifted him up so that he sat on the cool marble surface.

"Hey, Envy?" Ed asked, loving the feeling of Envy's lips on his neck. Envy's spindly fingers started to work his shirt off and over his head. "Envy?" He asked once more, not wanting the sensation to end but knowing something more needed to be said.

Envy growled, reluctantly yanking himself away. "What?"

"You're a much better kisser than Greed." The lecherous smile that claimed Envy's handsome face said more than words ever could.
