Author's Note: Merlin belongs to the BBC and not me.

Merlin, the useless sod, was quite helpless without him, Arthur knew.

Just the other day he'd had to rescue his hapless servant from yet another beating, and the day before another monster that had randomly decided to attack them in the woods.

Merlin was just a beacon for trouble. He was always being accused of something, caught up in conspiracy to help magical fugitives, or being set up by whatever it was looking to kill his father that week.

It was only natural really, when it came out Merlin had magical powers, that Arthur would do everything in his power to protect him.

He was used to looking after him by now.
