"So what, you don't have any idea who this guy is?" Kisame motioned towards Itachi with his Samehada sword, causing (Name)'s gaze to follow. After thoroughly examining Itachi from head to toe, she looked back at Kisame.
"Nope. He's not ringing any bells at all." (Name) shook her head.
"Would you listen to that," Kisame's wide grin showed most of his pointy teeth as he walked over his stoic partner, "(Name) doesn't recognize you at all."
Itachi silently stared at (Name) for a moment, wondering what sort of jutsu she had been put under to have forgotten him so easily. When they had found (Name), she had instantly recognized Kisame, so why didn't she recognize him? She had happily greeted them both, of course, but she seemed as though she and Itachi had never met.
"Do you really have no idea who I am?" Itachi asked, peering into (Name)'s eyes. He wasn't using the Sharingan, though had contemplated it's use. The risk of possibly hurting his confused former lover had prevented him from activating the trait.
"Not at all... But Kisame seems to like you, so I'm willing to give it a shot. I'm (Name) (Last Name)." (Name) introduced as she gave Itachi a smile.
She waited a moment for a reply, but when he gave none, she asked, "Is something wrong?"
"Nothing." Itachi replied as he turned around, cloak whipping behind him. "Let's go." The emotion that normally lacked on his face made Itachi appear to be perfectly fine, though Kisame knew him differently. Perhaps that's why the man was laughing so much as he and (Name) followed behind.
"Did I do something wrong?" (Name) whispered. "He looks upset." Kisame smirked.
"He's always like that."
