"The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough." -- Rabindranath Tagore

At first she thought he was having another nightmare.

After living with Sasuke for about three months, Sakura had come to realize that the past had not left him yet. She would often wake to his screams and thrashing limbs in the night. Then, body heavy with sleep, she would wrap herself around him and whisper soft words until his nightmares calmed and he relaxed into her embrace.

But this was not a nightmare.

Sakura had flipped over instantly at the sound of his cries, ready to do all she could to quell his monsters. And immediately paused, hands pushing against the mattress as she held herself frozen over the bed, when she saw his face flushed and distorted with pleasure. His cries, first seeming to her as filled with pain, became soft moans as he squirmed under the covers. Facinated, Sakura watched with wide eyes as his head turned from side to side in heightened frustration, hands grasping the bed at his sides, hissing or moaning every couple seconds.

So even Sasuke has wet dreams, Sakura thought, slowly lowering back down on the bed, eyes never leaving his writhing form.

"Sakura," Sasuke abruptly gasped, his hands slamming hard on the bed and arching his back. He flopped back down a few seconds later, panting heavily with eyes visibly open and staring up at the ceiling. Sakura hurriedly shut her eyes and breathed evenly as if she was asleep before he cooled down and realized she was awake.

After what felt like an incredibly long time, Sakura felt Sasuke turn on his side to face her. There was a moment of absolute quiet where she thought she had been caught. The sudden pressure of his fingers against her cheek almost made her jump, but she managed to resist the urge just in time. His fingers brushed over her lips, hesitated, and then trailed back up to tuck some of her hair behind her ear. The springs of their mattress groaned as he twisted away from her and sank into the bed.

Sakura fisted the sheets in her hand and tried to pacify her rapidly beating heart.
